Re: What did you do today.
Pacific rim was fun, can't wait until bandai starts chucking out those plastic models!
Have done little painting, but played a game of Bolt action against Miguel, after forgeting some rules, some thing was unclear though if one of the sniper team or LMG team gets killed, can the lmg, sniper still fire, this is somewhat unclear in the rules. The game was fun as it plays similar to 40K, although pinning and the random order dice generation is a large difference.

@Konrad - yuck
many apologies. There is one single, solitary entry in the Eldar FAQ, and it's for the shadow weaver - small blast it is. Damn GW and their crappy proof reading

@JR - If the guy carrying the weapon dies, you lose the gun. If the loader dies you can still fire it, but with a -1 to hit. I think it is in the section on Team Weapons. The gunner should really only be killed due to the opponent rolling a 6 then another 6 to wound or due to an enemy sniper.

That was exactly what was happening, he was targeting my gunners and i was targeting his sniper team.Primarch wrote:@JR - If the guy carrying the weapon dies, you lose the gun. Thanks for the info, i will check it later.

Today I painted the boots, ammo pouch and bayonet scabbard on 50 odd British infantrymen. I also read an Osprey book on the Battle of Hastings 1066 and worked out army lists and a cost estimate to recreate it* during my breaks/train riding time at work today.
*800 models and roughly 500 GBP total for all the Saxons and Normans if anyone cares.

Thank goodness for that. Small blasts make them merely awesome not holy crap awesome. No worries. Don't think it would have made an enormous difference on the final outcome. I can't think of a 40K game where afterwards you don't go, "Ah, we did that wrong!" I should apologize to the Pike for not making fear checks every turn I was in HTH with his Wraithknight. I thought it was only the first turn.me_in_japan wrote:@Konrad - yuckmany apologies. There is one single, solitary entry in the Eldar FAQ, and it's for the shadow weaver - small blast it is. And I did a bit of painting recently, got a bike and biker done.

Today I continued to work on my British infantry. I got a few washes done and a couple of small spots coloured in. Slowly getting there...

Re: What did you do today.
Got to work glueing my dire avengers together. Very nice models and really happy with how they came out. Got my crimson hunter in the mail today and will start in on it tomorrow. Got some basing done on a few space marine tanks as well. Did some repainting on my servitor gunners and did some armor on Arjac Rockfist. Then did more glueing and more glueing. I am actually hoping my other orders take their sweet time to get here.

Re: What did you do today.
Today I caught the morning matinee showing of that marine zoology documentary with nuclear powered 2500 ton diving suits. It was very, very entertaining as suspected, promised and recommended. Yes, the plot is simplistic at best. Yes, there are things you shouldn't think about twice. (Why spend time ineffectually punching amphibious marine life when you so happen to have a handy swords, super gun and so on?) Yes, it is stuffed with cliches, but I suppose it rather intends to walk into those things as it is a movie in part homage to "kaiju" genre along with "gundam" "Independence day" "Star Wars" and a load of other films. When you compare this to other blockbuster productions like "Transformers" my respect for guillermo del Toro keeps growing.
And while it is sad this movie didn't do so awesome in the theater, I really don't see the story going anywhere from here. I saw an awful lot of robot-monster fighting and I can't think of how Transformers 2 and 3 added anything to what one was. I hope they let it sit as a one off gems like "District 9" and "Firefly".
Then I bicycled around Nagoya, dropped by Tokyu hands in search of primer (I can't find a can of black anywhere it seems) and then did pitiful little work on my models. Now I am cooking chicken stew.

Re: What did you do today.
Today I started moving some stuff into my new, version 2.0 hobby room. I must confess to feeling a wee bit giggly about the swishness of the new gaff.
