Anyways, back in Whocareswhatsiedbaseitcomesonland, other folks were hard at their hobby tables. I was tidying mine in preparation for my next couple of secret projects

Re: What did you do today.
Worked on my gatormen some more. Really glad they're just a minion force. I like 'em and everything and they'll look cool on the table, but man, trying to do voodoo right is not easy in the least. Finally got the skulls to look like all the souls have been sucked out of them and have the staff skull lite up with power. found a cool new way to make dirty brown clorthing to boot. now for all the details. Then on to Barnabus.
BTW, anyone know a good how to make a swamp base article I can read?

It's easy to die in the swamp. What's hard is to staying dead.

This is really annoying how safari reloads the page every single time I open another app. How in te heck am i supposed to cut and paste links from photobucket, hmmm? Stoopid ios7
Anyhoo. As I have already tried to say 3 times...
@voss: my cryx have swampy bases. To make em you need:
Tree stumps (either metal ones from Joshin train floor or ones made of trimmed sticks)
Hay, from a 100shop broom
Milliput or similar
PVA glue or clear resin
Dry herbs. Basil is good.
A base
Plasticard
First, cut the centre, flat part out of the base leaving just the rim. Put this down on the plasticard, draw around it(the outer circumference) and cut out the resulting circle. Glue this to the bottom of the rim to create an indented base. Secret Weapon minis sell these pre-made if you're lazy. Use milliput to absolutely seal the join inside the rim. Then, use some more milliput to make some wee hills and glens inside the base. Stick in some tree stumps and reeds (hay). Also stand your mini in the milliput to make footprints - this helps it glue later. (Assuming you've removed the tab already, of course). Let the milliput cure. Now take some PVA and stick some crushed dried basil on as undergrowth. Use watery PVA as a sealer. Let it dry. Paint the whole shebang, and your mini. Superglue the mini to the base. Mix PVA with a little water to make it runny, or use whatever hobby-water product you prefer. You can add some green ink at this point (a teeny tiny dab is enough. Remember you want transparent green tinted water, not radioactive ooze.) Add this to the hollow part of the base and pray you sealed it properly back at the start
You may need to repeat this step if your water shrinks as it dries. It's a finicky process, but it works, and if you do a batch of bases at the same time is actually quite quick. Hope that helps
As for me today, I finished working on my fan cover. Pics to follow in case I lose my post again...

@ Voss: I can pass you a WGI article on water and swamps when I get up to Seki next time.
Last night I worked on assembling the rest of the hussars. Tonight I did a tiny bit of work on the models.

Despite having most of the day off yesterday, I didn't get much hobby stuff done. Last night I painted the shields, hair and clothing on the unit of Zulus I'm currently working on. Hopefully I can get them done by the weekend so I can focus on my dragoons, we shall see.

Re: What did you do today.
Worked on Squatifying some Orks. As usual, got a little to ambitious, and flattened one's nose while I was working ahead on his belt. Always remember, just do one bit at a time.
And I played a little more "Final Liberation". The supression fire rules are weird. For some reason when your units do reactive fire, their range is way longer than when you fire during your own turn. I'll like roll a tank up, they Orks shoot at me. Then when it's my turn, I find I'm out of range even though the range on our weapons is the same. Can't figure it out.
@MIJ - a most mighty hobby bunker of geekery. Sooo jealous.

Did more on the BA Home Guard, more bits and pieces of work needed on them as the week goes on. Based a few things and undercoated some rifle toting policemen (will count as inexperienced troops) which I'd forgotten I needed to do. Always something you forget.
