Plus my new Bolt Action armybook came today. Armies of France and the Allies, covering French, Norwegian, Belgian, Dutch, Polish, Greek and Partisan forces. Great stuff.
What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
Today I finished off the 24 Zulus I had been working on. They're ready to be attached to a base now. I also finished painting my German 8Rad armoured car and Hanomag. I have a crewman to paint and some decals to apply and they're done too.
A very productive day!

Yesterday I decided to change things up and I worked on some Chaffee tanks that had been sitting about without any attention. I got a significant amount of work done and today, after work, I'll get around to putting on the decals.

Any rules for the Polish Airborne Prim?
Re: What did you do today.
Nope, because the book only covers the aforementioned forces for 1939-1940ish when most of them got rolled over by the German Blitzkrieg. The only forces for mid-late war are the pacific forces who fought the Japanese and the Partisans, who fought against the occupying forces throughout the war.kojibear wrote:Primarch wrote: Plus my new Bolt Action armybook came today. The Polish Airborne are covered in the British book, being trained, equipped and deployed like their British counterparts. I don't think the Poles even had an airborne force until after they fled from Poland, though I could be wrong. (Job and Pikey might know).
At some stage Warlord/Ospey may do a Market Garden supplement, but for now, it's the British book that you need.

Thanks Prim, I thought that would be the case.

Did some work on the wraith guard this last week. Looking good. Did some washes on my crimson hunter flyer, stealth suits and fire dragons. The dragons have now been cut and modded and mounted on cold ones which I call harlequin chameleons since I'll use them as harlequins. I was going to go with silver spears because of the bases but the lack of attacks made it seem stupid since there is this big badass beast attacking. Built a Tau Razorshark today and modded it. Very nice. Did some work on my marine biker unit and finished it off for this weekends gaming. Gotta push back the forces of evil in the local campaign since adding to many points to the evil side in my last outings. Tau are considered evil! What about the greater good! Painted up a bit of the farsighted model today for my commander and did some shaving on my second dire avenger unit. Also got 24 trees done up but still have to put them on bases. Just remembered. And got some eldar tower terrain sprayed and mounted on bases. And the highlight of my week were some craters I made. They came out perfectly. I can't believe I made them and painted them. They are a little on the fragile but light and only took about 20 minutes from start to finish for one. Can't wait to throw them down this weekend. Which reminds me, got four more to make and a few big ones tomorrow. Time to go get to work.

Technically yesterday: but here goes..built some alien broadside-stand ins. Then road down to PVgaurd's (56 km)on my bike only took 3.5 hours saw some monkeys. Hung out. Sold off the best part of my Eldar army. Took a look at all the cool terrain PVguard is making and eat some great food... Made a great list for my Tau Alien Coalition. Got ready for the game!

@Miguelsan - Looks good. I guess the magnets will be better if you are carrying it around everywhere and glue if you will only be using it at home.
Today I played a game of Bolt Action with Lovejoy. He was using an early war Home Guard list, so I stripped all of my lovely panzerfausts and assault rifles from my Germans and brought along a 1940 list to play with. On turn one, the (free) British artillery observer called in a strike that destroyed my AT gun and armoured car before they even had a chance to do anything. Boo! Luckily, it takes more than that to stop a blitzkrieg. The game ended in a draw with me slightly ahead on victory points, but not enough to claim a win. All in all, a fun game with some fun units on the table. Captain Mainwaring's platoon held their own against the pride of the German army. "They don't like it up 'em."
After that I went shopping in Joshin and bought an early war Panzer II (for my next game against Lovejoy) and a Russian armoured car. After I got home I assembled an AA gun to use for scenery and a German AT rifle team.

Re: What did you do today.
Played Prim in the above mentioned Bolt Action game, my first crack at the dastardly hun, using an inexperienced list of mostly green troops, the 'Dads Army' Home Guard list from the Great Britian book. On the down side, The old codgers are a bit lily livered - if you are unlucky with the morale rolls then units can be quickly rendered useless (for example, when germans try to, say, burn them alive in churches, or some other similarly shabby nazi trick!). Home Guard are very cheap though, so you get a lot of them. I was helped immeasurably from the kick off in that I jammily knock out a couple of vehicles with an artillery strike from ARP warden hodges. Slowly but surely though I was pushed back, and was relieved when the game didnt continue to another turn after the sixth, as I'm sure the grandads and flat footed young boys of my home guard would soon have come a cropper! Very pleased with their performance though overall, although I think I was lucky to draw. Big thanks to Prim for being a first class opponent and being patient with the newbie.
BA itself is one of the best games I have played in years, and has really inspired me. The order system means that you cant predict what you will be able to do next, and really gives a great feel for the ebb, flow and confusion of battle. Can't recommend it highly enough, and am already working on a new list to stick it to the bosche!
