@Obrest Voss: Well rough news, but hopefully the doctors and you can use the information to better manage your health.

I do think it would be good to move somewhere with more people like across the mountains to somewhere around Nagoya, but do take all this advice for a grain of salt. Ultimately, if take it all one step at a time things will right themselves. Oral Endoscopy, check! Next up, Colonscopy in 10-20 years! Yeah!

@Yellow: X-wing is awesome! Great game. I really love the nostalgia of the Y-wing, even if the fancy pants x-wing pilots rub in their maneuverability. :D Thanks for having me over.

I'm working, kind of. Yeah!

The past few days have been interesting. Friday was spent over-eating (as last posted) and also coming to the realisation that I find it really hard to shop in shops nowadays. I visited a number of hobby shops in Akihabara, mostly non-mini hobby shops (trains, gundam etc). It was surprisingly difficult to find shops that actually sell minis. I did manage to locate Miniature Park (of online fame) and found it to be a very nice, though small, shop. Plenty of well-painted historical stuff, but the minis were all so frickin expensive compared to online prices I just couldn't bring myself to buy any, even after the owner came out and gave all the customers taiyaki :) (by way of comparison, MP price for a pegaso mini was about 6000en, online it's more like 3-4000.

On Saturday I attended the finals of the biggest speech contest in the world, and my student made it into the last 27 (out of more than 2000) so I was pretty pleased. Then it was time for the poshest event I've ever attended. Dinner in the company of HIH Princess Takamado (impeccable English, btw), dignitaries from 5 embassies, and letters of congratulation from Caroline Kennedy and Shinzo Abe. And the top prize was a laptop PC, 2 weeks in England and a million yen. Hell, I'm thinking of dressing in drag and entering myself next year :p

Then today was the JLPT. The listening was ok, the reading was actually pretty good, and, sadly, the kanji bit was a train wreck. Epic fail incoming, methinks. Still, onwards an upwards :)

So, a busy weekend, and back to work tomorrow. I look forward to reclaiming my evenings from the tyranny of kanji study, at least for a bit :) hopefully my next post will be more mini-centric :)

In this weekend, I have painted my Italian regular troops. These have been painted greyish green.
I will paint tiny part of these in this weekday, if I can.
Now, my Italian can enter 1000pt game.

Played my first game of Apocalypse on Saturday. Eight players across two tables. Highlights included an Imperial Guard Company a Commander being the sole survivor of a crashed Vendetta then being beaten up by Gretchin in close combat, a Baneblade shooting a Necron Ghost Arc from the rear on the next table over, Marneus Calgar taking out The Deceiver with a vortex grenade, another Baneblade doing a Dukes Of Hazzard-style leap over an Aegis Defence Line to squash a load of Necrons and Ghazgkull getting shot in the face by a Thunderfire Cannon. Oh, and repeated use of the stupidly huge Apocaluptic a Mega-blast template, which was the highlight of the day. :)

Well Mr Voss you need to change no stress is worth your life, i suggest you watch the big lebowski for the most important life lesson in the movie "F**K it, Let's go bowling".

Last weekend i went to the onsen on saturday and when i came out i saw something like this

An MTB with an electric motor? eh?

On sunday i went to the Jigg Kansai meeting, finally i could play my Relic boardgame and bought the Bloodbowl cardgame from another member. Also i played Room 25, a game heavily based on the "Cube" movie.

At my go to wargame shop they had dreadball box but i only bought the cheerleaders (i can use them for blood bowl) Don't know the function of those Shield like things they have on the arms.

Painted some of my Dust tactics stuff

No hobby time again recently. Yesterday I put up the Xmas tree, and jolly nice it looks too. In the evening I had to attend a drinking party type event with my wifes co-workers, and my wife of course, to celebrate the impending birth of what seems to be our boy next year. It would be difficult to understand their pharmacist shop talk even if my Japanese was great, but luckily the restaurant had a massive selection of Belgian, German and other beers of the world so that was a good consolation. My weekends are Sunday Monday, so another day off today. As I type I am awaiting the arrival of a couple of co-workers so that we can try multiplayer wii u With the new mario game and sink a few beers. Finally, the Judge Dredd stuff I ordered arrived! I tried not to buy any, but the urge was too great. And the rulebook is fantastic, very chuffed with it. Not a bad weekend so far. :D

That's excellent MiJ, I thought you were joking when you mentioned the Royals earlier. Wow, great for the resume. Today I got some painting IN and started on some Downton Abbey Strange Aeons minis. Great fun.
Good work everyone.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Today I had 8 hours of man to man classes, one of which was the same guy for 6 hours. (He's being transferred overseas in the new year and really needs to improve his English quickly). I haven't really felt like doing much since I came home. My mind is frazzled.
Hopefully tomorrow I can get some painting in...
