Today, work was horrible. I think I actually may need to do something about it (not the job as a whole, just one especially vexing aspect. person. aspect...) It's really starting to affect me. Proper stress symptoms n everything (yknow, headaches, tinnitus, getting angry at teeny wee things that shouldnt bother me, etc etc. textbook case, really. Anyway - am getting really pissed off at the situation, which I wont go into, but comes down to needing to work very closely for at least another year with someone who has polar opposite views to me on how to do our job, and who is, shall we say, very stubborn and rude. I shall stop there to avoid this becoming a rant. Anyway - something's gotta give, and I do not intend for it to be my sanity, so steps shall have to be taken...

I did paint a wee bit today, tho. See the corsair WIP thread for pics :)

Please don't talk about murdering your colleagues on this forum. Though if you need an alibi, I can help you out. (Or have I spectacularly misjudged your intent? :D)

Unfortunately, even the best of jobs can be ruined by the presence of one miserable fether. If you can avoid dealing with them it isn't so bad, but sometimes that isn't an option. Good luck mate.

Packed up my painting table - moving to a new apartment on Wednesday, so I figured I wouldn't really be able to get any more work done 'til then. Hopefully it won't take too long to get unpacked after the move and get painting again!
Feel free to call me Dave!

murder? moi? *hides sharpened ruler behind back* perish the thought. ;)

Nah, it's actually very unusual for me to get narked off at someone this much, or indeed at all. I always try to maintain a level head, especially in professional situations. Even at this point I haven't actually indicated overtly that I'm angry with the person, altho someone looking for it could probly see the signs in me, but it's definitely a problem when my dislike of someone is preventing me from doing me job - I find myself finding anything else to do other than talk to them, and that just aint helpful when talking to them is vital for making progress with certain things we're both working on together. Anyway - I shall be optimistic and hope that next week brings better things.

I did a wee smidge of painting today (oil pin washes) on my tanks, and I also made strawberry cupcakes and black bottom cupcakes. the strawberry ones have actual strawberries in em, and the bbs have a kinda brownie-ish base and a cheesecake topping. Both have cream cheese icing, and are rather bloody good, if I do say so myself.

Image

The strawberry ones had Sean in tears, rattling at the kitchen baby-gate. "moooooore!!!!! moooooooore!!!!! bwaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!"

i consider this a sterling success, when it comes to cupcakes

Quiet day, huh?

Today I went to Ash's event in Tsu and partook of a pretty epic game of Talisman, with no less than 3 expansions added. In the end, my dragon rider made it through to the crown of command and won the day, but to be fair, she was, y'know, riding a dragon. It helps...

All in all, though, a good day out. Many thanks to Ash and Andy for organizing/bringing the game.

Today I finished doing all the uniforms and equipment on my GIs and gave them a brown wash. Now I need to paint in the metallic parts and then the skin and they are done. :D

The boy came home finally! He is only 6 weeks and a bit, so it's going to be a learning curve as I'll try to do some of the chores my wife would previously have preferred to do herself when possible, today I was making dinner, doing the laundry, washing up, and generally getting used to young Louis' unscheduled whims and fancies. Went to bed at 7pm to show support for my knackered wife. He is marvellous of course but we are looking forward to the day when he gets into a proper sleep rhythm.
Cheers to MiJ and Konrad by the way for the gaming/parenthood advice on the Kuwana thread. I'll bear in mind that now may actually be the best time to keep the gaming up rather than decrease it.
Anyway, no hobby today. Hope to paint a little tomorrow. Squeezed in a bit of Mass Effect today though, and defeated a blue lady. Not the same blue lady as previously mentioned in this thread. A different one.

Not really what I did today, but my recent painting efforts have been painting my first ever Napoleonics for A Song of Drum and Shakos while watching 'Sharpe' movies :)

@ Y-S: Nice! Hagman and Harris, I totally recognize them. And wonderful Crapauds. I will enjoy the chance to fight beside them!

And as for your guests, you should just give them a paint brush a piece and set them earning their stay. :D

The last few nights I have slowly go the ball rolling on painting. I finally primed up my new Gyrobomber along with one of my gryocopters, along with a squad of BA Germans and some additional dwarf models. Tonight I will set about painting.
