@Prim, that was basically the urban idea I had! Looks effective. Probably shouldn't use it myself though.
@Miguelsan, ah, the classic green battlemat! The desert scheme doesn't look too out of place though. Perhaps I could try my own desert, marsy scheme after all.

Today I had more fun with trees. I think I'll be ready to base-coat them, and the last models I'll need to field my Iron Warriors in full, within the next couple days. (Did you know that Cryx Defiler bonejacks are just about the right size as, and even have a remarkably similar weapons loadout to, a Chaos Warhound titan?)

Tonight I worked a bit on the bases of my gyro fleet, put together the Skdfz 250/9 and did some painting on miscellaneous dwarf models.

Not much progress made yesterday, though I did manage to get some resin bits and pieces tidied up a little.

Today I went down to the Chateau d'Piker and had a very large 3000 point Warhammer game. We made it a side battle for the purpose of the campaign although it was fought partly as a primer for the new Dwarf book and the relatively new DE book. It was a very grim struggle. Although it was battle of the Pass, the dwarves made it to the middle of the table to meet Mike's forces. Dwarf artillery struck true as usual, bringing down Mike's general, manticore, hydra and the handguns and crossbows weakened the Elvish calvary. Gyrocopters and the bomber were all over and did some damage, but they didn't provide a critical blow. The big lesson was never charge a fully ranked up horde of witches with a boiling vat of blood soup. The femme fatals ripped through a unit of miners, hammers and the gyrobomber unaided. It all resolved as 1210-1186 VP score, slightly favoring Mike. While a 24 point difference out of a total of 6000 points might be considered a draw, all credit to Mike for both facing dwarves in Battle of the Pass and pulling a draw after all the devastation my cannon wrecked on the first couple of turns.

Thanks for the game. :)

I also cooked a pot of Clam Chowder for tomorrow. Unfortunately I had no time to work on the BA Germans that are next on my painting queue.

Nice stuff!

I made some (what I think are) sort of endearingly ugly trees. Off to buy more foliage this afternoon to do the rest.

"Where are the Gorginites?!"

Nice minis. They look good. And I like the bit of posing in the background.

@AGP - Nice looking Huron and Valthex minis. Are you going to bother with Captain Sumatris or Arch-Centurion Commodus?

Today I put some varnish on my GIs, so once that dries they can be based. I also put the first layer down on my Sherman.
