Re: What did you do today.
Not today as such, but worked on some jungle terrain over the weekend, began painting the first of my Bolt Action Aussies and got a couple games of X-Wing in on Sunday which saw the Imperials ambush and kill Y-wing ace "Dutch" Vander but the Rebels got their own back in destroying an Imperial base (the last 2 missions of the 'Erasmus Campaign' - available here: http://www.themetalbikini.com/2013/04/c ... paign.html)
Over the course of the 4 campaign missions, the Imps won two and the Rebels won two.

So many games, so little time....

This morning I put some more paint on my Roman cavalry and assembled a few minis for Malifaux.

Re: What did you do today.
I primed my astropath yesterday, but I haven't got around to painting her yet. Rather, I spent today reading about a new MMO (Wildstar) on a friend's recommendation. Looks fun, but its game mechanics kind of require you to have a fast connection - and there are no aussie or asian servers. I went ahead and pre-ordered it anyway.
I'm thinking about giving the astropath a blindfold with some green stuff, but I haven't worked with it before, so I'm nervous.

Re green stuff: some basics include:
1) lube your tools (Vaseline)
2) you do have tools, yes? These don't need to be official sculpting tools - a sewing needle stuck in a bit of cork will do. Just don't use your fingers, unless you have a deep and abiding love of fingerprints.
3) less is more - you always need a smaller bit of GS than you think you do.
4) sculpt in small steps, letting each cure before moving on to the next. (Altho a blindfold could easily be done in one step)
Specifically, a blind fold could be done by: mix a tiny smidge of GS. Flatten it using a (lubed) flat surface (eg a mirror) and another (eg a flying base)*. Cut a teeny wee strip from it. Attach strip to head using a lubed tool (back end of paintbrush would work). Fiddle with said strip until it looks like a blindfold. Let it cure. Wash it to remove the lube (paint does not like Vaseline, obviously.)
For better GS advice, ask Konrad. I dabble in sculpting coats n stuff. He sculpts entire armies...
*ok, specific, I know. Meh, it's what I use...

Re: What did you do today.
Ps. Today I have been mostly attempting to maintain a professional demeanour whilst coughing up my lungs. I have no idea where it came from, but I woke up last night in the wee small hours with a runny nose so bad I actually honest ter Gawd almost choked in my sleep. Very unpleasant awakening, and probly pretty nasty for my wife too (it was not an especially delicate sound as I cleared my throat...) Today I have had the sore throat/cough from hell. It Will Not Die.
Feeling miserable. So, once the weans are both asleep, it's bed time for me, too.

Well, as I said earlier, I spent some time assembling models for Malifaux. I got 10 minis stuck together in total before I had to go to work. I pieced together 3 minis for my Guild crew, 2 for the Showgirls, 3 for Rasputina and 2 for the Viktorias. It's nice to feel like I am clearing out some of my backlog.

Re: What did you do today.
No hobby to report really, the odd lick of paint on the Dredd stuff languishing on the painting table when. I can snatch 30 mins is all. Ordered a few minis from reaper to use as Lone Vigilantes or Cursed Earth types - super hero, super villain types, should be a lot of fun to paint.
Started True Detective on the recommendation of quite a few friends. Not far into it, but already enjoying the slow, measured pace and character development. Lots of references to The King in Yellow and Carcosa too, which makes me creeped out and excited (in a good way).

Re: What did you do today.
My box o' vehicles arrived today, so I spent some time assembling and magnetizing the first leman russ tank. I ended up ordering some of the not-yet-released Raging Heroes minis for my infantry, so I won't get to paint my troops until those arrive (my guess is 2+ months).

Today I started painting the skin on the current batch of minis I'm working on. Then I kind of got bored so I watched X-Men on TV.
