Well no much lately. Painted some Battleship Yamato small ships. Converted a plain vanilla bomber into a Btech Shilone ASF and managed to cut my finger really deep. Oh the wonders of modelling.

Plus this... this is going to be the bane of my hobby time. A desktop for gaming... all those games I couldn't play in my laptop becuase of melting cores issues now open to me

Just as planned! Hopefully it's not *too* bright; I want the girls of the regiment to look cheerful, but not silly (so no pink leman russes).

Sorry to hear about your cut finger. :(

Finished up that terrain piece (it looks the same, just with bushes, so no pic) and got some some stuff ready for the next block - another village scatter base like the first one, plus half a dozen more trees. Unfortunately, putting the texture on the buildings is a bit of a PITA and may successfully sap my motivation yet again.

Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuegreen. Wow - dats some pingy tank right there. If I may be so bold as to offer advice, if you were to get a couple of tubes of oil paint in, say, dark blue and dark green, and a bottle o odourless turpentine, you could level up that there tank's paint job by giving it a quick delineating wash*. It'd take maybe 30mins, but would look awesome, done in moderation (and not slapped all over it.)

As for Xbox boy, he's the gunner offa the venom, and will soon have a large splinter cannon attached to the firing assembly he's holding. Xbox controller indeed
Standard dark Eldar head, btw. I just gave him some serious goth issues with the paintjob is all.

*ie just around the panel lines and rivets and suchlike.

@me_in_japan: Okay, done! :D I don't have any oil paint handy, but I do have some green / blue washes, so I went over the rivets and lines with them. The tank looks like it has a lot more shadows now.

I find it very hard to make any changes to a model after I get it to the point where I'd be okay putting it on a table. And that's not a good thing, because my "good on a table" threshold is pretty low.

We all have to start somewhere, and you appear to have got off to a good start.

While your tank may lack shading and highlighting, you have managed to apply he paint evenly, there are no obvious brush strokes, and it is neat and tidy with no overlap.

Job well done I reckon.

@ Dekana: I like it! The 40k world used to have a lot greater range of colorful armies like the old Praetorians and the Eldar craft world schemes, but things have taken an increasing turn for dark and grim. It is good to see you inject some life and boldness in your colors!

Washes are very easy to do and really help the model, but of course paint as you like and to your own standards. Well done and now the sponsons!

@ Miguel: Blood for the Blood God! Fingers for the Skull Throne!

The last few days I've been working on my Helbrute. Today I got the they up to the point where I'll apply some stuff to the base and maybe add a few touches I missed. It was fun painting a dreadnaught again and just concentrating on one models without any schedule to adhere too.
