What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
I got a model called a Panasonic DMP-BD89 from amazon Japan, plays UK and Japanese blu-ray and dvd no problem. A bit more expensive than some, but certain other models seemed to be able to handle only imported DVDs, not native Japanese ones, oddly. This one works without quibbles.

Reading the Rogue trader rulebook. Rules are nice. Very precise. Love the rules and charts for mutants. Hilarious.
Too hot to do anything else.
Brilliant. Thanks Lovejoy, a good find.

Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Re: What did you do today.
today I spent my money in the raging heroes webstore (like Pikey, I was on the early pledge list to use it, actually from about a fortnight ago. I'm just disorganised (and also need to run everything by jehan-r, since we're joint pledging). Anyway, it was a rather fun experience browsing through a webstore full of very nice minis, with a big dollop of store credit that I actually paid for so long ago it's like I was spending monopoly money
Very good value for money, too, once the freebies are factored in (and not unreasonable value even if you don't)
Aside from that, I briefly looked at the judge dredd minis game website, as Spev has been talking it up. The minis do nowt for me, but that's ok, as I've been looking for a reason to bust my eschers out of retirement (and those RH Jailbirds would fit in nicely, too)
I could be up for tweaking the noses of some judges in the fairly near future, if folks are interested
Other than that, not much was done today. As ash said, too bloody hot...

I spent the day filling in paperwork at the bank to apply for a loan. I applied to 3 banks, at the recommendation of the building company and the real estate agent. Hopefully one of them will be the bank that likes to say 'Yes'.
No hobby stuff done today, but hopefully I can get something done this week.

Re: What did you do today.
Did all I could to dance around laundry-drying to get the first layer of black on the next batch of terrain. Moved a couple about 1/3 painted units of Hussars from the bullpen to the painting table in anticipation of the whole spray process (black twice, then one light coat each of brown and ivory) for said terrain taking a couple few days.
@Primarch, good luck with the loan process! Fun, fun!

I spent almost the whole day in my garden today.
After taking my daughter the the bus stop, I spent the morning digging new flower beds, and digging up old bushes. Took a lunch break which consisted of ciabatta, Danish blue cheese, Red Cheddar, and salami.
It was nap time after 4 hours of gardening and a big lunch so I took a shower and crashed on the sofa.
An hour's nap saw me fully rested and my loins girded for the next task....BBQ!
Shish kebab, chicken, flat bread, and garlic Parmesan roast potatoes take a lot out of a lad. Still, nothing a few German pilsners can't fix
Had a chat with ma and pa on Skype over dinner in the garden, and then roasted marshmallows over the fire
All in all, a bloody good day.

Re: What did you do today.
Ended up starting Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition and sinking a few hours into it. Still a great game.
Watched a BFI Dvd I ordered called Robin Redbreast, whilst drinking a couple of beers. I like their range of 70s Ghost/Horror titles. This one intrigued because it was said to have been a huge influence on The Wicker Man (1973 version) which is an old favourite. Enjoyable Folk-Horror, if a bit creaky.
Slaved away on the Judges. Just about done now, redid all the Judge armour so that it now stands out loud proud and more cartoony. Lawmasters coming together nicely, not sure whether to glue the riders on..maybe they'll want to dismount after all. As I worked I watched (well, mostly listened) to the first couple of episodes of the 11 hour Ken Burns American civil war documentary. Had the DVD for a while but never watched it. Very interesting, tragic stuff. I had vaguely heard names such as John Brown, Bull Run, Wilson's Creek, but had no real notion of what they meant.
@Spevna, sounds like a perfect, grown up day up day of productiveness. Garden, eh? A lot to be said for living a little further out. Must be great for kids.
@MiJ, hope we can arrange some Dredd in future. True that not all of the models are attractive, I would be the first to admit that. Older sculpts are a bit ropey, but most of the recent ones are (to my none-too exacting eye) very decent and characterful. Of course, any sci-fi or near future minis work fine- Necromunda will do, no probs. Tons of potential from other makers such as Foundry, Copplestone, Reaper, Hasslefree an' all. One of the great things about the game is that you could shoe-horn anything into the setting and justify it.

Re: What did you do today.
@ Lovejoy: Glad to hear you listened to Ken Burns' The Civil War. Particularly the letter from the soldier to his wife prophesying his own death is really haunting, and at the same time really makes you think how sentimental the whole period was.
Tonight I finished up watching A Bridge Too Far again. It makes me all geared up for doing some Market Garden and I would really like to do a big scenario for it. Maybe this September to memorialize the 70 anniversary?
Now to do a bit of work on the CSM models or the 15m Stug I've forgotten about for awhile.
