Ghost rider was fine. Just way too much condenced into one movie.
Got a lot of warmachine glued together last night. Between them and my early war, I think I got enough to paint for a while.

Does it matter? As far as i know a close combat weapon is a close combat weapon in 40k whatever it looks like. It will be a power Naginata.Primarch wrote:That champion looks great. Are you planning on counting his weapon as an axe or a spear?
Re: What did you do today.
Got some paint on my first RT Eldar.

I am planning to add a bit more foliage to the base later, a bit of green for variety.
I intentionally went for a very muted scheme as it reminds me of the Space Elves in the old RT rule book.

@spev -
welcome to the pointy side
@j-r - the rules for power swords/spears/mauls are different, so yes, it kinda does matter what it counts as. That said, the fact it's not obviously anything in particular means you can call it before any given game, which can be helpful.

@mij & Prim, oh didn't know that, never used those things, a spear was more logical IMHO for a Buddhist warrior monk.

No probs, j-r. My corsair captain has a rather similar indeterminate double ended speary/glaive thing, which generally I just call a power sword.
This evening I watched kick-ass 2. It was ok, and had some good one-liners (mostly delivered by the motherfucker*) but overall not as good as the first one. The story was ok n all, but some stuff was kinda unnecessary (all the hit-girl/bitchy girls stuff coulda been cut right out and nowt would've been lost.) On which note: the girl that plays hit-girl is by far the stand out actor in both movies. By a strange quirk of fate, she also provides the voice for the young empress Emily Kaldwin, a pretty major character in Dishonored, the game wot I just finished the other day. Didn't recognise her at all. *shrug* there ya go. Small world, I guess...
Anyway, I'm gradually, sukoshizutsu regaining my will to paint. Some evil pointy years may be in the offing, assuming I don't get distracted by owt else...

Re: What did you do today.
The ones at the end of Thor 2, Avengers Assemble, the Iron Man films and Captain America 2 were enjoyable to me, despite not knowing who anyone in them was. This one, not so much. I'm assuming it's a teaser for the baddie of the next X-Men movie, but it had no connection to the film I'd just watched.Primarch wrote:I bet you didn't yell squeal with excitement everytime a new mutant showed up on the screen either.AndrewGPaul wrote:Primarch wrote:... X-Men: Days of Future Past, which was awesome and the now obligatory after credits teaser was suitably cool.
YMMV. It could have done with a "warning: this will only make sense to serious fans of the comic". For the rest of us, it's a waste of ten minutes.![]()
I guess if you weren't that in to the comics, then teasers at the end of the movie aren't going to do much for you.
Today, I went into the LEGO shop for an Ecto-1, but they were sold out.
Re: What did you do today.
Lego Ghostbusters? Cool!
As for X-Men, fair enough. As a long time fan of the series, the post credits scene was a great teaser for me, but probably not for everyone. Disney has done a better job of linking their movies together. Fox is trying hard to emulate them, but it's not quite at the same level yet.

Re: What did you do today.
Rather than painting Light Dragoons, I followed the siren call of terrain and started the process of making some sandstone rock formation things - cut some rough styrofoam chunks and started texturing them up.
Feel free to call me Dave!
