Anyone else wade through the wailing and knashing of teef on the forums? Apparently the Ork Codex download was accidently released early. The main gripe is that that Mob Rule is gone, no more Fearless. There is a Ramshackle-like table you roll on every time you fail a Leadership test. The table results in your unit taking a d6 S4 hits and then passing the test. Ouch.
And speaking of Ramshakle, it's basically gone. Nerfed into a "on a 6+ penetrating hits are downgraded to glancing..." big whoop de do.....
KillaKanz got more expensive, and now have to take something like a breaktest.....
And Cybork bodies got nerfed from a 5+ inv to a 6+ FNP..... Orks cannot get an Inv save in Assult by any means......
But there are some reasonable changes. Lootaz are HS (and cheaper!) Tankbustaz don't have that silly Glory Hogs rule and they and Burnaz can take Trukks as Dedicated transports. (Though without Ramshackle, I don't think I'll be fielding a Trukk again.) Units of 5 or less Buggies get Outflank! And the new Mek Gunz look like they will be most useful.
Have to see how it plays out. There are some big, big changes here. Will have to see if we got 'Nided into a joke, or are now a lean, mean green stomping machine!

A good summary. It's been a while since I played Orks back in 5th, so can't see all the angles frankly.
The transports for burnahs, boarding plank thing, lootah point reductions seem nice, but they aren't huge boosts. There should be at least one new change that has us punching the air in triumph. I really want to know what other Ork players on the forum think, too.

I don't play orks, but it does seem like there have been a few noticeable losses from the new book. Fearless is a big hit, but given that you can still sort of pass tests, it's not too bad. D6 S4 hits results in maybe 1-2 dead orks. Remember that back in 5th when the old Dex came out fearless meant taking a lot of extra hits if you lost the combat.
No more invulnerable saves is another mark against the new book. FNP is ok, but it isn't as good as an invulnerable against some things.
I've heard the slugga boyz got cheaper, which could be a good thing if you want to field more minis. Shoota boyz work out at the same cost as they are currently, so that's not too bad.
The new Mek guns look pretty good on paper and all of the new minis are aces if you can afford them. Get a few games in and see what has changed about your army before buying new toys though. I'm sure GW made sure the new stuff is all much better than anything you currently have.

Haven't seen a copy of the rules yet, but now there are meganobs.
Plastic meganobs are quite welcome, and being able to have a mega-armored mek who also has a kustom force field is a good change.

Buggies look decent and cheap in the new codex so I'll be watching out for these. Much better than the ancient official versions.
