Konrad wrote:@miguelsan- I've always thought it would be fun to do some sort of starship battle game with Yamato models. Be cheap and quick to put together.
@Prim- The ground trembles........... Nice, nice bit of kit. Very ambitious.
@Aux- Oh yeah Mr. Shadowsword, how about this! Man, those things are built to be Squatified.......must fight the temptation........
And I am off, off for a month back home. Family, old friends, good beer, open spaces, and if rumor is true a nice FLGS to replace the former most excellent FLGS. Must fight.......
Have a safe trip!

Magnetizing the Gorkonaut was pretty simple. The only tricky part was the main armament. I ended up using a spare slotta base as a backing.
If you search for "Gorkonaut magnetizing" on google there is a guy called 'watchingpaintdry' who came up with this idea and a bunch of other cool ork conversions.

I've slowly been chugging through the assembly of my vehicles. I just started on the 2 basilisks today. Unlike the other IG vehicle choices so far, the basilisk kit comes with quite a few neat, optional bits but no instructions on where to put them. So I'm forced to use my imagination for once (gasp!).

In other news, I finally got around to buying a local phone. I also ordered a battlefoam bag during the July 4 sale, but it hasn't even shipped yet. Likewise, my raging heroes troops won't ship for a few months yet.

Returned from the UK this morning laden down with tat from London - well, not all tat..I had always wanted a massive teapot with a strainer for loose leaf tea and now I have it. Got some nice books and DVDs for when Louis is a bit older. Perhaps we didn't really need a London Underground themed tea towel, though. And the orks liberated from the shed back home were a totally necessary part of the load.
In the last few days we checked out the National Gallery, which was great, and the Warner Bros Harry Potter tour. I tell people that it was my wife that really wanted to go (she did) and so I had to, but that's frankly a bit dishonest as I enjoyed the movies and was really quite excited myself. It didn't disappoint! Unlike the Osaka attraction, which I hear is more of a ride, this was a complete and massive display of props, animatronix, you name it, all with exhaustive audio and visual guides from that bloke who played Draco Malfoy (Daniel Radcliffe and co presumably had other more gainful employment). You're allowed to film anything in there, too. Perhaps the highlight was the 1:24 (!) scale model of Hogwarts at the end of the tour - it was absolutely vast and needed a good 30 minutes to take in. Photos don't do it justice.
So, the suitcase also included a chocolate frog with Dumbledore collectors card, and Bott's every flavour beans.

The job search starts in earnest from now, so again, any tips, please let me know.

The tour sounds pretty neat mate. Is that a brand new attraction in England?

Fairly new, it opened in 2012 I think. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warner_B ... _Leavesden
The place has quite an interesting history, churning out bombers during the war prior to becoming a working film studio.

Oh, it's a shame I didn't get to see it when I visited England last year. Next time around, eh :)

Glad you all had a good time and got home safe and sound.

Those basilisks are scary pieces of equipment on the field. BOOM indeed. :o ... :)

A shame your girls won't arrive soon.
