I would like to join it but I think you are not a Hi-jacking it if we all show up and want to play the same game.

I think its the 3 out of 4 tables that he would be hi-jacking. That would leave everyone who didnt want to play, trying to play on 1 table.

There is a store in Nagoya which rents out a room to us once a month. There are usually 4 gaming tables available. We split the bill between us (500 yen per person). There is a gaming store in Nagoya but they only really have space for card games. When we organise a bigger event we rent out a community hall.

Most of the non-Japanese players use inches in their games, whilst the Japanese players tend to use cm amongst themselves and whichever is most convenient when they play against foreigners. So long as you and your opponent aren't using different systems, both are ok.

Oh its very difficult to buy tape measures with inches on them over here. You might want to get one from back home.
A very important point, that. If I were you, id get two, just in case one breaks. (it happened to me. Once the end falls off your tape measure, it suddenly dawns on you that there will be No More Gaming for several weeks till you can arrange for someone back home to go buy you a replacement and send it to you. Its poo, lemme tell ya...)

I'd also recommend bringing some blu-tac or similar stuff, as again, its buggersome hard to find over here.
:D Thanks for the advice. I'll bring my tape-measurers. I've got to ask the same about finding modeling clay or pumice gel. Are you guys able to find this readily in the Nagoya hobby stores?

And sounds like you guys have a nice arrangement. Once a month sounds like a way to keep from becoming over-gamed. There's a really chill store here in Eugene, and some of us are caught down there several times a week because it just around the corner. After awhile we are not even gaming; just chillin' there.
Of course, we also get lots of FOW games (+ others) in. ;)

Tamiya sells a lot of hobby tools and equipment including 2-part modelling putty (similar to green stuff). I'm sure you can find some modelling clay somewhere but I have no idea about pumice gel. There are a few (non-gaming) hobby stores around Nagoya, so if you're looking for materials that the game places dont stock then you can try them.

tamiya putty is pretty rubbish when compared to proper green stuff. And it smells bad, too...

It is possible to by green, grey and brown stuff here, but if you dont live in the city (and i dont) its a lot easier to mail order it off the internet. Shipping costs can be an issue here, but if youre regularly buying minis anyway, adding a stick of stuff to your order wont bother the shipping costs too much. If theres a hobby store nearby with reasonable prices, then id say just save yourself the hassle and buy the putty there and carry it with you.

I dunno what pumice gel is, but that would imply that its not readily available here, so id bring that, too.

I can say that the Tamiya Epoxy is not that bad and it actually sets up faster than green stuff.. but at the moment green stuff from over seas is a bit cheaper even with shipping costs.. .

Thanks. I actually know of at least the location of one hobby store, the one across the way from the store you guys go to for gaming. Kind of a hole in the wall, just above street level and not far from Osu Kannon (and actually closer to Kamimaezu, if my memory serves me right).
Anyway, I was thinking about bringing the last of my green stuff, but I keep having self-concious thoughts of trying to explain to Airport security why I'm bringing modeling poxy in baggage. Those strips look like the "gum" from MI:1. It is sure to set off suspicions of the airports. I just want a smooth flight to Nagoya.

yeah, i had the same worries when i came over from scotland, but i put the green stuff/grey stuff in my hold baggage and there was no problem. If youre also bringing sculpting tools and minis its pretty obvious that youre not a terrorist, id imagine.

Unless you're making explosive miniatures, of course.
