Merry Christmas everyone! I'm settled in with some fried chicken, music, and a table full of unpainted leman russ weapons. I didn't think it would be too much work, but I must not have understood just many of them I have to paint.

Yikes! Anyway, I'm slowly working through them all.

Quite a Xmassy day so far, considering. Unwrapped our presents with some seasonal music by the tree. Had some classy (but extremely..fragrant) cheeses with crackers. My wife and I fancied a Xmas movie, so we watched, erm, Gremlins. Daft and hasn't aged well, but fun. Now were half way through the first Hobbit, occasionally breaking for tea and nappy changes. Not sure about dinner..we don't have the necessaries for a Xmas feast, but it looks like roast chicken, potatoes and veg are on the menu.

I've been reading the Lion Rampant rulebook too, and have made a few lists based on the Perry War of the Roses minis I have. There are definitely enough for two 24pt retinues.

Plan to paint something later, Ronin or Dredd stuff.

Merry Xmas everyone!

Santa sez, "Merry Christmas, I'm swipin' yer swag."
Pretty typical day for me actually. Just hanging around the house doing housework, nengajyou, getting beat at Connect 4 by my 11 year old little girl. My boy just got back from handball practice, so we'll get dinner on and do some presents and music going in a bit.
Got some paint on those Diggaz! Really brings out allllll the tool-marks, deformities, and other mistakes. Going to take a sculpting break and paint these up, and get the trukk finished up. Got some of those silicon tipped sculpting tools coming. Wait until they get here and try them out.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Merry Christmas to all :) Today was nice - I managed a proper dinner, the kids got presents enough to keep them entertained for a plenty long time, and now I'm finally sitting down, about to relax with a beer. Yay :)

Oh, and re: kiwi fruit - there is indeed a horrible enzymatic reaction. Kiwis contain a protease which interferes with the solidification of the jelly, resulting in a bowl containing a lake of pinkish fluid in which small berry islands drift forlornly over the slurry of liquified sponge cake on the bottom. It was not pretty. I managed to salvage most of the fruit though (the non-kiwi parts) and after a dash to the late night supermarket for a new packet of jelly, trifle 2.0 was far more successful. Lesson learned, though, to be sure.

Ps@ dekana - I feel your pain. Batch painting of guns is one of my least favourite aspects of tank armies. Ganbatte!

Pps: today's dinner. Quite proud of it, actually :)

And just for fun, a picture of a 1 yr old with a plate of cream cake. I'm reminded of the chap from Airplane that had the drinking problem...

@ MiJ: That boy looks very satisfied. It looks as Christmas dinner was a big success for you.

Tonight after eating dinner, I applied paint to some metal Khorn demons.

A belated merry Xmas to one and all :)
Got woken up at 6 to open pressies. I scored a new hard drive and some a Chelsea shirt.
Xmas lunch was rotisserie chicken, sweet chinese pork, and a bunch of thai stir fries.
Xmas dinner was a bacn cheese burger and honey ribs :)

The only hobby related action was reading the new JDMG supplement.

On Boxing Day night, worked on a few minis for Dredd. They aren't finished by a long way, but I enjoyed myself. The foreground figure is a converted Hasslefree mini, just bunged on a jet pack and gave him a chain saw. He's going to be a Lone Vigilante called... Colonel Mustard!
(No? Surely you've played Cluedo/Clue?)

Anyway, still more to do but I think he'll be fun.

Definitely some Cluedo-Dredd crossover gang potential there. Professor Plum, brains of the operation, leadership and repair talents..Reverend Green, man of god, therefore can be psi powered raising the dead and such..Mrs White, medic..Mrs Peacock - an old biddy, therefore mutant with hardened skin mutation..erm..running out of steam here, but you get the gist.
Of course, weapons should really be lead piping, candlestick and rope. The first two are clubs, no problem. Rope is a grappling line in the rulebook, which I can't be arsed to look up. And there we have it.
