What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
Yesterday, the last parts* for my gaming table were delivered and I now have a fully functional games room. The table is 6' by 4'6 with enough space for even someone of my stature to mlve around it without needing to squeeze past things. A definite step up from my last place. After reading some online advice, I built the table up to a little over 3' tall, about the height of a kitchen worktop. It's easier on the back and better for standing at for a long time.
*As it transpires, I need to buy some extra pieces to prevent the table surface from being knocked and sent through the window. That would be bad.

When are you coming over, Dave?
In other news, I've been painting a Warhammer army. I've chosen to paint the High Elves from the Island of Blood box and also the ones from the 4th edition box, plus some reinforcements.

I've nearly finished Prince Althran on his griffon. After that, it's more Sword Masters and Sea Guard, a battle standard bearer and Eltharion on Stormwing.

MiJ, in my defense I will say that I magnetized the weapons and threw the instructions to the dust bin before building the kit as I wanted
I also have Illic and a squad of wraithguard from the last codex I'm not totally against GW you know
Now I have to fit all the toys in an 1500pts lista nd get some games,
M.

Nice elves, agp
July 28th to Aug 20, as it happens. Any chance of another claymore, prhaps?
Today, momentous things happened. Behold!

That's right folks: it's an empty painting desk. That can only mean one thing - the super secret project is finished! Yay! Two months that bastarding thing took me. It better bloomin well deliver the goods at naghammer, lemme tell ya...
So, onto the next proj: my archon. Gotta have an hq unit, and since my only painted hq was the good baron, a new mini was in order. So, from here on in I shall be boring y'all to tears with WIP pics of Skaarlys from raging heroes. Nice enough mini, but v bad pitting around the thighs, bum and chest. (These are not coincidences - it's all the relatively large, flat areas of te mini. Everything else is covered in twirly bits so pitting isn't a problem.)

Re: What did you do today.
Went to Volk's today and bought a new brush since my nice one had started crapping out on me. My final unit of Dropzone stuff is coming along nicely - at this point I'm just blocking out the gray and white.
I also thought very seriously about the fact that to get to 1500 points I'll only need to buy 2 models for each of my two forces. Resolutions, schmesolutions!

Re: What did you do today.
That is a very nice army of High Elves, AGP. Very well done. Well painted armies like this remind me of the first Warhammer box set back in 91, 92? With the night goblins vs high elves. Happy memories of playing for the first time.
No painting from me this year other than undercoating a Balrog. Lots and lots of sci fi movies, Call of Cthulhu Masks campaign and X Files on the box though. Getting through those winter blues by keeping myself fit with running. I have a 10k race on Sunday. Wish me luck guys. My aim is to do it in an hour. The cut off is 1 hour 10!
Great to see all your painting projects. Thanks for sharing.

Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

@Prim- My painting space has been converted into a hina matsuri display for the foreseeable future. I'll be right over with my stuff just as soon as I recover from this cold that's kicking my butt and feel like working again. Hardly know I'm there.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Re: What did you do today.
I've been busy looking for a job, so hobby work is completely on hold for the moment. My poor raging heroes girls are still mostly unassembled and unpainted.
I'm not sure if I'll make it to joshin this month - hopefully yes, but I'd better not commit to it yet.
Wish me luck on my interviews tomorrow and Monday!

Went to Volks and managed to return a Z.O.E. Anubis figure to the self before leaving the store! Don't need more until I clear my ddesk a little bit.
