Lesson for today: when painting, do not absentmindedly open a pot of red, squeeze out one or two drop into the palette and then look down and realise that you just unscrewed the whole frickin top of the bottle and have just drowned the palette in the remains of your last VMA red

There's been a murdur... [/taggart]

On a more positive note, the gorefest was put to good use blocking out the base colour for her armour. This sculpt is fairly nice, but the cast is absolute poop. I keep having to look at the insert card photo to work out where the hell armour ends and skin starts. Should never have made it out of quality control...

I had originally planned for red hair. While painting it I swung towards dark black/turquoise (like the rest of my dark Eldar) but looking at these pics, I'm thinking maybe white hair could work well...

Nice Work MiJ, she makes me think of Dejah Thoris! (the book/comics, not the film)

@MIJ- I vote for white hair too.

@konrad - not that I've noticed. This is a fairly old mini, so maybe the moulds are starting to wear a bit thin.

Today's work: kinky boots and a rough slap of colour on the cloak. I'm not 100% sold on the colour for the cloak. Probly once it's all highlighted (every.individual.bloody.scalehex.of.it  ) it'll look ok, but right now I'm just not feeling the colour. What say you all? Any alternative ideas? Also - gold bling or silver bling? Or summat odd, like NMM blue or something?

Nice work MiJ! I reckon the blue cloak will look nice once it's done - it's a solid palette.

As for me, holy smokes it's Friday night - I have some painting ahead of me tonight and tomorrow, I reckon. I had that bit of that "not wanting to sully the pristine new brush with painting" feeling earlier in the week, but sat down and used the puppy today and got that out of my system. Any luck, I will in fact have a fully painted PHR force on Sunday - I've got the dark gray blocked out on all 3 remaining models, and the light gray transition coat for the white areas done on one. Shouldn't be more than a couple hours of work altogether to get everything finished, knock on wood.
Feel free to call me Dave!

Did a trade with a bloke on the Oldhammer forum.

I gave him 4 Chaos BloodBowl minis.

I got these in return :D :D

Nice trade, just shows how much things have changed. To be honest I don't recognise the ones on the left.. The marines, particularly the bottom right one is great, very iconic for that time. They look a bit like saggy wombles who've been out on the tiles.
The top left feller also reminds me of the chainsaw warrior minis I once had, wish I still did (If anybody has 'em, I'd take them off their hands).
Hope to arrest / execute them sometime soon, eh?

I finished painting Haven gates today.
havens.jpg
Didn't really paint them well, but I will have a fully painted army for Sunday.

I'll be a little sad when I finish all these Shaltari. I've really enjoyed painting them and I learned all sorts of thing from it. I think I'll need to paint a big orange ork sometime soon.

@MiJ - That's an impressive model. It should look great when you're done.
