I have a backstory for the order in my head. It is named after the founder of the order who had her flesh flayed by a Chaos Daemon, but through her incredible faith found the will and strength to still slay her daemonic assailant with her power sword.

The red armour represents her flayed, skinless form, and the the icons (Inquisition symbol and fleur de lis) on the armour are literally made from bones of dead ('martyred') battle sisters.

Grimdark enough for you?
I think it ought to drip blood. ;) I want a bit more grim and dark, please.

Good back story though. I like the idea.

If it was good enough for Sanguinius....

Of course Sanguinius never met a Sister of Battle or an Inquisitor. And his daddy was the Emperor. That's like a license to do anything but play around in psychic powers.

Even that was largely overlooked in most cases. The only really naughty thing would have been breaking into Dad's hobby room and smashing his expensive Forge World kit. That's what gets the wolves sent after you.

Is that the truth of it? Yesh, Magnus was a very bad egg indeed.

Yep. You guys with young 'uns best make it clear to them that smashing daddy's hobby stuff is bad. :D

Today I did a bit more painting on some Sengoku era peasants, tidied my hobby room a bit, put some washes on some terrain and got my latest batch of GI's ready for priming.

Managed to paint a Psyco Death Eldar Clown.

Mother-in-law and sister-in-law are here (can't even get precious national holiday to myself!) so I have spent a couple of hours playing Dawn of War: Dark Crusade on my 2008 laptop PC. It still plays well. Provided I stick to old games, I'm laughing, besides retro is cool. Planning to play through warhammer: Battlemarch, Vampire: Bloodlines, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners and the absolute treasure that it Realms of the Haunting as time goes on.
Who needs progress eh? Not me.

Got bored of my PHR and started in on a half-squad color test of my Germans. I really need to get over my tendency to leave everything too dark, but in general they're coming along all right.
Feel free to call me Dave!

I finished assembling the other 5 traitor guard. I also added a tiny bit of paint to some bloodletters.
