don't worry about removing the aquila - keep it on and just make it all scarred and damaged looking. You'll need to repaint around it a bit, but other than that it should be simple.

@Spevna - nice work with the speed painting. Is that an old Spes Mahreen mini?

That he is mate. He is the grandad of all Spez Mahreenz. Code C100, from 1987.

Got one with a las cannon that needs painting too.

Nice job on the Tank Mikbail, which tamiya kit is it? might have to steal that idea!

Progress on my acquired Helios ships, will also add some stripes like the scratch built one.

@Spev - Nice stuff.

Today I put a couple of washes down on some US Armour and a base coat onto some SS Grenadiers.

@Spev, I always like those quartered or halved marine schemes, hard to pull off as I should think the brush strays if you are like me, but you've done a good job. The dark and light colours contrast well.

My weekend was spent in a chalet in Mie ken with some of my wife's ex-coworkers. Was alright, but Saturday and Sunday were basically written off, and the driving and carrying of young Louis (forgot bloody pram) wore me right out. Got to Ise shrine however, gorgeous trees in the sun.

Can't wait to paint something..got to find the time..
