October in Flames

Post by Mike the Pike » Fri Aug 20, 2010 1:23 pm

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Flames in September is now October in Flames!

That's right folks, Sunday, October 3rd is now D-Day for our little Flames of War Get together.

Where: Chukyou University Bunka Shimin Kaikan i.e. The place where the Nagoya Hammer Events have been held. http://www.bunka758.or.jp/02shisetsu/02shisetsu_01.html Mail me if you need further directions etc

Time: We have the room from 9am - 9:30pm. As I have to come all the way from Toyohashi we will probably be starting around 9:30. Feel free to come for only part of the day or stay for 12 hours.

What actually is it?: The aim of the day is simply to get in a whole bunch of Flames of War games.

This is definitely not a tournament or anything like that. I want it to be a day where beginners can dive into this great game and the players with a few games under their belts can get even more FOW time in.

Beginners are particularly welcome. None of us has reached veteran status yet and it would be cool to see some new(-ish) faces on the other side of the table.

"But I don't have an Army" I hear you say. No problem. I will have four standard size armies painted up by then, and between various other parties we should be able to scrounge up 2 more. If enough people show an interest we can easily make the games smaller and get 8 starter armies going.

It would also be cool if you just wanna come along and shoot the breeze about FOW and/or check out some of the rulebooks/campaign books etc.

Money: It's one coin gaming folks. In other words, ¥500 if you wanna play.

Soooo... if you are interested post below to sign up.

Any questions post 'em below too or PM directly.
Cheers
Mike the Pike

P.S. If you are interested could you please let me know a.s.a.p. as I have to re-confirm the booking by the end of the week. You definitely don't have to sign your name in blood or anything at this stage. It's just so I can see if there's enough interest to even run the event.

Man, I'd love to, but real life raises its ugly head - that's just about a week before our baby's due, so I probably shouldn't be gaming two Sundays in a row, heh.
Feel free to call me Dave!

You and your wife are having a baby? Congratulations! :o
Anyways, don't worry too much if you can't make it. Mind you, you could always pike out on the September 26th gig and join the cool kids playing FOW :D

That sounds great. Count me in. I'll bring my British parras but probably have to use another army to bulk them up to game size.
Well done on booking this.

I'll try to make it with my huns, but they won't be painted if I do.

@Ash: I'm sure we can find some support units for you somewhere. What have you actually got so far?

@Voss: No worries about not having things painted. The main point of the exercise is to have a great day playing/trying out FOW. There are definitely no paint scores :D Also, same question as above, what exactly have you got so far?
