Finished Cassandra. I'm fairly satisfied with her sword, and to a lesser extent the bodice. Everything else I'm very much dissatisfied with, but I'm a bit concerned about my low painted model count this year, so I'm going to call her done and move on. Next on the table: Colette.

Got next to no painting done this Silver week. Only just today did a bit on a Digga chick. 85% done. Been too busy bike riding and playing in the park and watching sumo and playing Baldur's Gate 2. Must kill more monsters......
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

I've spent a few hours over the past few days working on some terrain, though it's nowhere near done yet. I have also been chipping away at adding some reinforcements to one of my Bolt Action armies.

I worked on my last hill today.

I think I went too heavy with the white drybrush, and I got a little bit sloppy with the tissue paper over the styrofoam. My level of effort on this project is starting to flag, so it's probably good that this is the last one. I think I'll put some flocking on it and be done.

@ Auxryn: Bang up job. Well done. I like the sand on the top the hill. Looks good.

Past 2 weeks I've been working on a battalion of chasseurs and also working on some steps to another battalion of fusiliers for a show down with Komura's Austrians. Last night some flags were attached. Tonight was adding some clips of grass to the bases.

Also I met up with a friend of mine and worked on a language exchange. I've got to invest more time in my Japanese.

Was surfing the net, looking up sites relating to LOTR SBG, and came across this. I think I read it a while ago, but wasn't sure if I had imagined it.

The actor Paddy Considine on Fellowship of the Ring:-
"Fellowship, to me, was it. I was a fan of Peter Jackson, having seen all his early work, but to me Lord Of The Rings was a total geekfest. My mate Richard used to, as a teenager, paint little @@@@ing goblins and that. He was proper into Rings and I went with him and my wife, expecting to fall asleep. But I was genuinely enchanted by it - as I was driving home in the car, I couldn't stop thinking about that @@@@ing black thing on the horse! There were all these names, 'Bogwat' and @@@@ing 'D@ckwad' and all that, but I was captivated and the next day I went out and bought all three books and read them, and became an absolute geek for Lord Of The Rings overnight. And this is the best bit: I started painting little @@@@ing Games Workshop models!"

Apparently he used his experience to portray a wargame shop owner in a movie I haven't seen (Close your Eyes aka Doctor Sleep I think). Incidentally, what a foul @@@@ing mouth he has!

It brings to mind some mention on a sports quiz in the UK of Steve "Interesting" Davis, former snooker champion, saying that he was looking forward to painting some mordor orcs after the show.

I hear that mate! :( Goodluck! :)

Maybe we should start a thread on sharing interesting and useful Japanese? (But I fear it may enable some fiend to pull a 'Hungarian phrase book' trick on us all ;) )

This evening I started Colette. Just boots and legs so far. I'm pretty happy with the legs, which is a shame as the plan is to paint a fishnet pattern on em, which I will doubtless make a complete pig's ear of. Hey ho, at least we'll have photographic evidence for posterity :)

@ Kojibear: thanks and good idea.

I didn't sleep last night despite my best efforts for 7 hours. Survived work today. But the flip side is I discovered The Adventures of Gerard. Now I want to paint up those hussars!

@MiJ - Nice work on the ladies. It's much easier to paint ugly well than it is to paint pretty well.
