Got distracted and started another different thing. I have less attention span than a toddler high on sugar.

@Spev- Excellent stuff. I like the color scheme. I think your bold, black shadow/outline style fits that they are characters from a b/w comic book. Posterboy (sorry just trying it out) gave me a couple of Judge Recruits. I should paint those up one of these days. Though I think my Judges would not amount to much more than those hapless extras who get wiped out at the start of the movie to show how bad-ass the bad guys are if I went up against the Angel Gang.
@themadspaniard- what is that? I like the dinosaurishness of it. Now why is "dinosaurishness" not a word?
I was inspired by that big amazing Agnicourt diorama to start an extremely modest terrain project of my own. That being to paint up this little 2x2 Zuzzy cobblestone mat job gave me. Got a basic grey dry brush down. Going to take a smaller brush and spot-scrub some different shades on some individual stones today if I get time. Did that in the art room after school. Kids were gone, so I had the whole place to my self. After I got home, I even got out my sculpting tools and did a bit of puttering. Warmed up smoothing out a wife-beater tank top on a Stuntie and then moved to reworking a Digga-chick face. I had to chopped on half off earlier. It just was not working. Have not done any sculpting in a few weeks, but it seems to be coming back pretty quickly. Found a nice mix of about 80%Grey Stuff 20%Milliput I was pretty happy with.

Dark brown might have worked better than black? Anyway, tights is better than fishnets. Colette is s classy burd, not a slapper.

I've been working on repainting the D&D figs I acquired a while back. No pics yet as most of them are still in simple green.

Next up: a colour I like to call gradiated plum blossom. Also found on my dark eldar, believe it or not. On which note: check that hand-size difference. Really not excited about painting those fingers

ps - I watched the new Jurassic park (world) film today. I want my two hours back. Gawd that movie was bad. Just...bad.

@M_i_J -Jurassic World is exactly what it was meant to be. A tired franchise, milking a concept that is as ancient as the dinosaurs it stars. I just switched my brain off for two hours and tried not to think about it. It wasn't the worst movie I have seen, though I did go to see it with my expectations set to absolute minimum.

Today I finished up all the paint on the GI's and Airborne I've been working on. Just need to add some flock to the bases, varnish the metal figures and they are done.

@agp - not a bad idea. Actually, looking at the pics I may go back and take the lights up a bit further towards skin tone, and maybe add a red glaze to the knees.

@prim - I know, I wasn't expecting much either, but seriously, aside from Chris Pratt was there a single character in te movie who you weren't thinking "god you're annoying. I hope something eats you" about?

@all - more Oiran. I'd considered a black kimono, but the missus said not to be daft - Oiran wore red (google backed this up) so red it is. The over-kimono is still only at the base coat stage, and will eventually look much more beige/ivory in tone, with the plummy colour only really coming out nearer the bottom third and on the sleeves. That's the plan, anyway. I'm also considering a bit of gold freehand on the red kimono. Not sure, though.

Why would I watch a Jurassic Park movie and NOT want to see people getting eaten by dinosaurs? It's kinda the whole point innit. That said, I did feel sorry for the assistant who got lumbered with baby sitting the annoying woman's annoying nephews. No-one should have to do that AND get eaten by a dinosaur on the same day.

Re: the Oiran, be careful, that's border line historical stuff you're talking about there. One minute it's googling the correct colour of a kimono, the next it's searching for the exact shade of the lace edging on the sleeves of the Duke of Marlborough's aide-de-camp at the Battle of Blenheim. Tis a slippery slope, best paint something swooshy quick.
