@M_i_J - That'll teach you to try applying techniques and skill rather than just splashing paint around randomly like a chimp at a tea party as the rest of us plebians do. :D
I hope it all cleans up nicely.

@AGP - Sounds like hard work. How was Exploding Kittens? The Kickstarter looked really popular.

I have a copy, haven't had a chance to play it yet though.

@agp - I don't know which I'm more jealous of - the fact you gamed for 24hrs, or that you were able to sleep for 19hrs afterwards. Can't remember the last time I got a proper night's sleep :(

There's not much to Exploding Kittens. Each player starts with a hand of 5 cards plus a Defuse card. In your turn, you play cards from your hand, then draw a card at the end of your turn. Some cards are just pictures; play a matching pair and you can steal a random card from another player. Some cards are Favours - they force another player to give you a card of their choice. Some cards are Skip cards that let you immediately end your turn without drawing a card, some are Attacks which do the same then force the next player to take two turns in a row. Nope cards cancel out a card played by someone else (or can cancel their Noping of your card, and so on).

Why would you want to avoid drawing a card? Because if you draw an Exploding Kitten, you explode and you're out, unless you play your Defuse card. If you do, the Kitten goes back in the deck anywhere you choose (so, if you know the next person doesn't have a Defuse card, put it right back on top!

Last unexploded player wins.

Oh, and when you open the box, it goes "miaow".

Spent a good hour and a half this evening cleaning green gunk off my not-bloody-cheap mini. Still not finished - all the fiddly bits still need doing, and I scraped the carefully blended paint offa all the gemstones.

I still have 5 more to do.

I think tomorrow I may just pitch the whole bloody lot of em into the simple green. Probly work out quicker to strip em and start again than keep trying to remove the masking fluid.*

Not.bloody.happy.

*this is, of course, assuming that immersion in simple green will actually remove the green gunk. For all I know it could react and turn it into rockcrete. Probly will, the way my week's been going

I'm surprised there isn't some sort of easy, no-mess way to remove the masking fluid. Seems kind of counter productive. Best of luck with the simple green.

No hobby stuff for me last night, watching Gotham and cooking dinner took up most of my free time.

I used the purple Humbrol stuff on the canopy of a Stormraven. It went on OK, but the spray paint tore raggedly when I removed the mask; I ended up having to paint the edges by hand anyway.

Finally finished my unabridged listen to The Lord of the Rings on audiobook. Basically, I know the story very well like many of us do (keeping familiarity with it over the years by dipping into it, also through the excellent BBC Radio dramatisation and to a lesser extent the movies) but it had been a long time since I had 'read' the source material really closely.
I was expecting to enjoy it obviously, but yeah.. I *really* bloody enjoyed it. I'd forgotten so many great little details like Imrahil and Dol Amroth at Minas Tirith, Bombadil, the woses, mumaks, maggot etc etc.

Trying to get through The Dark is Rising sequence next, as I've always meant to.

@lovejoy - the dark is rising is a good read. I still remember it well, and it was a goodly long while ago I first read it.

As for me, this evening I finally cleaned the last of the green gunk o doom off my SSP. And good riddance to it. Tomorrow, the repairing of the paint job commences. Maybe in a week I'll be back where I was last Sunday. Ach well, we live and learn, and progress is progress :)

Got a Digga ready to prime, which I am sure will reveal a plethora of yet unseen flaws. Took a break from the girls last night and worked on some Squats. Got a couple of good ones in the works.
