November 29th at Joshin???
Re: November 29th at Joshin???
Sorry to hear that JP can't come. At least that gives me a chance to finish painting those crisis suits.
@Konrad If I recall correctly you have played Strange Aeons before. I've got the rulebook. Fancy giving it a whirl?

Looks like I am free tomorrow, which is great. I shall be heading in to hang out amid all the gaming excitement.

Great day guys. Thanks for everyone taking those books off my hands. And thanks to da Boyz for a couple of great, (though intensely frustrating) Gorkamorka games. Every time, just as I was getting ready to swoop in and start kicking some green butt, "Pow!" Job picks off my driver, "Boom" Auxryn disables my boardin' plank, "Crunch" Mukker, cunningly scrapes my bike off from it's perfect tailing position..... every.....time....... Watch out though, the Digga chicks have unearthed a mysterious ancient artifact of butt-kickery, and Don's Desperadoes are sitting on a pile o' teef! We'll fix you lot yet!
And I'll be sure to post those rules questions on Yaktribe, see what the ladz think.
And hey, if any of you could send me some pics of the carnage, that would be great!

I enjoyed playing This Is Not A Test. Thanks to Pikey, Yellowstreak and Kojibear.
We made a couple of mistakes in the game yesterday though. Shotguns are Strength 7, going up to 8 at close range. And anyone can pick up an LMG, up-armed only determines who can begin the game with a heavy weapon.
Looking forward to getting in a few more games in the future, though I am rethinking my Peacekeeper's weapon loadouts.

Thanks to Underdweller and job for help playtesting my Epic scenario - I think we got a handle on the tweaks we need, and the fact that I lost as both attacker and defender means it can't be that unbalanced to start with.
Also thanks Underdweller for keeping an eye on the rulebook, haha. Truth be told, I've been playing without really looking at the rules for so long that some rules drift has probably occurred in my disorganized little mind.

No prob, rules lawyer nerfing is something of a bad habit of mine, as I'm sure people who role-play with me can attest to! I guess you lost both games due in part to luck with the reserves rolls, so those small changes you thought of should make it a bit more balanced. Regardless it was fun to try out!

In all honesty thanks for pointing out those two points. It is good to get the rules clarification especially when bouncing between systems. The Underdweller wrote:No prob, rules lawyer nerfing is something of a bad habit of mine, as I'm sure people who role-play with me can attest to! @ ToD: thanks for hosting. I learned something about the relative strengths of my Ironwarriors and a reminder about the Eldar abilities and weaknesses. I love Epic's design and relative balance.
The mission sounded and played well, but I think the timing of reserve rolls should be jiggered a bit. That's my 2-bit analysis.
@ Konrad: While part of me feels awful about shooting a paraplegic lady out of her ride into an oncoming Ork buggy, the Beastly heart enjoyed the carnage and mayhem. Let's gear up for another rumble sometime. Oh and thanks for the wonderful ride.

Thanks to everyone for great games.
Ripgorr's Rippers are turning into a truly fearsome gang. Soon I'll be able to afford that wrecking ball!
I'm also happy I was able to start a Threshhold team for Strange Aeons. They even chalked up their first win!
