here I go again. job hunting

Colonol Voss, again I completely empathise. Best thing to do is lay low, stay out of trouble and get out of there as soon as you can. Get on gaijinpot and take the first thing you are offered. One thing I've learnt in my meager ten years here is foreign teachers or maybe even humans for that matter are looked on as drones and digits for business and not actual living people with minds and feelings at all. Now for the teaching profession you would hope it might be different but often not. I've found work to either fit here or it doesn't. I've just been told my Saturday class will be cut from June so we are all feeling the pinch this time of year. The fact that I worked hard when I could have been using those Saturday's for my ex wife and son doesn't seem to count for anything, and why would it.
Anyway we need to stay frosty people, we are all in strung out shape, but stay frosty.

My advice to not only Voss but to myself and anyone facing difficulties in work or home life, just from personal experience on the Japanese gauntlet. If you feel under appreciated it's because you are, move on and keep moving on until you feel appreciated. Or work for yourselves.

Foreigners getting treated like dirt really gets my blood up these days. No one stops to think wait a minute these guys put their whole lives on hold to leave their countries and come over here and help us improve our English because we are drastically behind compared to the rest of the world.
Justice will be done to these a holes that give you grief. Karma, not the home center.

The alternative option is a bit of a fantasy I admit and I'm projecting but it would be awesome to have a Nagham massive to sort this kind of shit out. No model maker gets left behind policy.

Well I landed a part time job at another school. This one much higher level than the current one. I need to flesh out my teaching hours with juku and eikaiwa to make this work, but I'm moving forwards.

And thanks Ash, but I have a more subtle jab at those two teachers. Actually, I feel more sorry for the students. They're learning that I am leaving and they're not happy.

Well, congratulations on getting something lined up. Keep hunting for more work and let potential employers know when you'll be free in case something new comes up. Hopefully one of your part time positions will evolve into a full time job.

That's what the school is hoping will happen. 10 classes this year and then expansion next year. This school is huge. I have never been intimidated by an interview before, but the sheer size of this place really had my nerves up.
