I won't have anything painted either so no worries Job. also if you need more armor, I can loan you some of mine. I don't have much, but what I have, I think is nice.

Thanks guys. I actually have all the parts for the compulsory organization of a Schwere panzer regiment Bake, but what I need to start purchasing are the support elements, most particularly infantry support.
@Mike: We played 1500-2k pts. Most commonly we would play 1750 pts as it was common in Salem tournaments and is kind of a good break between 1.5k, where games are more constrained for support elements, and 2k, where companies can really start becoming big (and games time consuming). The gaming days were every Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoons, but people caught games in between. Once in awhile we would get the notion for 1k games, and I organized a 750 pt tournament before I left (these games can be really fun and quick). No real "Standard" other then trying to get new guys to build their forces up to 1500-level.

By the way, figuring on an era yet? Or just whatever people agree on that day?

Well I think everyone is doing late-war. If there are mid war player, I'm going to be more than a bit upset as I wanted to do Italians

I would like to join you guys but I will not have any models for this game... I would like to see if I like it before I dump a bucket full of money in to it.

So far we have only late-war forces, mostly through my own fault :) I bought Fortress Europe and starting building from there. Then Stu got on board with his late war Brits and then it kinda snow-balled from there. Mid-war might be a possibility in the future but I think we'd all like to get some game time under our belts first.

The armies I have built are all about 1750pts and most of the games we have played have been about that size too. It seems to be the norm on the FOW forum too. As you said, it seems to give a nice level of support to a core army without getting too big.

Did you actually read the first post (or any of the others for that matter) on this thread Madmiral? I have plenty of minis for those without. The whole point of the event is to get more folks into the game. Which begs the question, are you actually planning on coming? Or was you inner spam-bot just randomly replying to threads to get your post count higher? :) :) :)

LW seems to be the usual these days, although I hear from the "old timers" MW used to be the norm. Apparently, where BF puts its focus tends to drive player interest. Now with EW coming out, some of the attention may drift back to the Beginning.
But if MW is something you want to play, LW-armies most regularly transfer. The points are stacked differently, so that it is a slightly more infantry dominated-game, but American and British armies almost have no trouble switching as their equipment in '44 were often used in '43.

Yeah, I was lucky to find that my Fallschirmjaegerkompanie transfers over to MW pretty well, though it'll need a lot of tweaking.
