I'm flex-time and as long it isn't within the last two days of the month, I think I can take a day off then. There is a chance though expansion plans will mean I will have new responsibilities, but currently they are set for later. Also there could be important family plans. (I'll check with the wife tonight.)
I figured you'd be interested. I understand about work/family commitments, just keep us posted going forwards.
There's also the need for Festung companies that defended the beaches. I could easily do those with the models I have and invest in bunkers and static defenses.
I already have a platoon of Ost-Truppen half painted and a platoon of regular Heer, so I could probably swing the Festungs side of the defences if you fancy doing the 21st Panzers and all their unique gear. If not, I also have a Panzer Grenadier force in need of a lick of paint, so it all depends on what you want to work on.

As for the beach defences, I figure that they will be a full 6' by 4' table all on their own, so probably won't be portable for events like Joshin. I quite fancy building a beach landing table for my own use, so I had planned on doing all the work on those myself, plus I have the space to store it. Smaller things like houses, hedgerows and woodland inland are more easily stored and will probably see more use if you are looking at expanding your own collection of terrain.

Great.

I'll do 21 Panzer as my theme. I'll look into a Panzer IV and support vehicles needed. (Should be fun!)

I'll also invest in hedgerows, roads and scenic objects. I could do some buildings, but I wonder if we will have quite a few of those. Maybe a stable or such.

If by some chance I can't make it, I'll see about making the things I promise available to the rest.

@Prim
I'm going to choose U.S. Ranger or U.K. Royal marine, if there are enough slot at your army plan.

Sure. Take your time to decide. The Royal Marine Commandos have their own army list at the bottom of this page:

Following on from my previous post about British troops, the American deployments to their beaches were similar. The American infantry brigades were reorganized for the landings themselves. While the British had lamding craft that were big enough for their platoons, the US craft weren't the right size. So, instead of loading platoons into their craft in full groups, they instead put part of the platoon and part of the company support units into each vessel. This maximized the firepower that could be deployed from each landing craft once the ramps dropped.
In the initial waves, the Americans deployed both standard and Ranger infantry units. The Rangers were tasked with scaling a large cliff and silencing gun batteries overlooking the beaches.
Shermans were deployed directly in the first wave, with support units being brought in once the infantry and armour had cleared them a route off the beaches.

The Airborne were dropped very early in the morning, but their aircraft were dispersed by AA fire and the difficulty of flying over unmarked drop zones in the dark. Many of the US Airborne landed in the wrong area and didn't rejoin their original units for some time. After the initial parachute drops, the Americans began landing gliders. Unlike the British airlanding troops, who wore the same uniforms as the Paras, US Glider Regiments wore standard infantry gear. (This was changed for later offensives such as Market Garden). Lacking large gliders, the Americans couldn't carry any heavy gear or armour. The glider regiments brought in light artillery, medium AT guns and jeeps, along with their infantry contingents.

I'd be keen to get involved with a new force (my usual Dad's Army aren't really going to work). Since it's several months away, I shouldn't have any problems with my schedule.

@Prim
Thank you for your post concerning American forces.
In this weekend, I'm going to order Ranger unit set, may be 3 packs, from WL.

And, could I inform this event to my Japanese gamer?
Let us know.

Great.
In addition to the Allied forces listed further up the thread, there are also a lot of German forces that could be represented. Heer, SS and Fallschirmjager were all present in the Normandy areas and took part in operations against the landings.

At the moment, we have:
ALLIES
Yellowstreak - US Airborne
Kojibear - British Airborne
Komura - US Rangers

AXIS
Job - Panzer Grenadiers

I have minis for Heer, SS, US infantry and potentially US Airborne, with plans to buy others if necessary. The less infantry I have to paint means more time for terrain.

Yes, by all means let them know. More players = More fun.

For the Rangers, I'll dig out the info I have on their units and post it here.

I'll be there, barring unforeseen circumstances, with my Fallschirmjager. Classic opponents of the Americans in the Normandy hinterland, most famously at Carentan (see Band of Brothers).
For SS players, 12SS Hitlerjugend sent recce units almost as far as the British and Canadian beaches on D-Day. However clashes between them and the Brits/Canadians didn't start in earnest until D+1.
Michael Wittman and his famous Tigers arrived a few days later too.
Anyone, wanting to represent veteran Heer troops, could base themselves on Panzer Lehr which was rushed to the front soon after the Germans woke up to the fact that the invasion was 'real'.
