I've been in a Napoleonic mood of late. It must be the after effects of fielding a WHOLE division of 6mm Frenchmen.
Sooo, I revisited my 28mm Russians and decided the guns and 1/2 regiment I did with Army Painter weren't really up to scratch. They looked OK but quite dull. So I went over-painted (is that a word?) the lot.
While pottering around, I found the leftover plastics I had from the Warlord Regiment box and painted them up too.
Et Voila!

A second battalion to add to the Murom Regiment.

Aaaaannnnddd, while I was at it, I did some more research about the units I have been fielding. It seems the Russian Army of 1812 tended to field brigades of 2 regiments, each of two battalions. But now that I have the 'correct' 4 units in one brigade, I was forced to buy some more Pavlovsk Grenadiers to balance out the other brigade. They will appear here in due course.

The other day I also had a great game with my Dark Elves and Beastmen. I have really missed :( seeing Dragons, Witch Elves, Bestigors and Hydras on the gaming table, battling it out (beast)man-to-man(elf).

The calm before the storm...

A horde of Witch Elves vs. Bestigors. Who will emerge victorious?

And what a great game it was! 2000+pts but it only took a couple of hours. Of course, I did it Billy-no-mates style* and played by myself, but it was still fantastic to get stuck in again.

"What rules did you use, oh MtP? AOS? 8th edition?" I hear you ask. The answer is neither. :o

I made my own! :ugeek:
Come on over here to find out what the hell I am talking about.

@Pikey - So how close does that put you to a 28mm Division? :D

Got in a bit of putting and painting and puttering about on the Diggaz/Mutiez/Stuntiez this weekend. Today's project is sorting through the pics from last Sunday's Rainy-Day Rumble in Kuwana. We had the usual suspects, Me-"Don's Desperados" "Da Diggachicks", Auxryn "Da Wreckin' Krew", Ono-san "TRUKOSAURUS!!!!!" and making his debut Mushroom Kid's " 'Achit Skwad".

The full gallery is herehttp://s1166.photobucket.com/user/Konra ... t=3&page=1

Here a few highlights of the action.

Witness me! Their ride good and 'recked, da 'Achit Skwad's Mek jumps aboard da Wreckin Krew's rig and knocks da Wreckin Ball operator out.

Image

Did not manage to wound him though. Mediocre!

Image

Using my superior speed and manooverabilty, Don slides his bike under the walkway to dodge the approaching two Wrecking Balls. Forgot that those Trukks also were carrying 'Eavy Shootaz. Dakkadakkadakkadakkadakkkadakka...Somehow, got out of that with nothing worse than some scratched paint!
Image

This is more like it! I'm on your tail Trukkosaurus! But as I used up all my luck dodging those bullets, it was for next to nothing.
Image

Game saw the return of Da 'Achit Skwad, Trukkosaurus, and the Diggachicks. Did not get as many pics of this bash as all those blows to the head were making me a bit groggy.

Here are the Diggachicks, failing to ram Trukkosaurus. Nooooo! I mean, how can you miss something that big?
Image

The Baddass of the Bash award goes to Nafkopp. His Boss OOA, his Trukk wrecked, he stomps his way across the board, blasting away at the Digga Trukk with his Kannon.
"You want some of this!" BOOM! "Want sum more!" BOOM!
Image

And for your amusement, the notes on that last battle. Whiteboards are handy and entertaining way to keep track of stuff for overly complicated skirmish games.

Watching 'Sharpe's Waterloo', 3 days after the 201st anniversary. Despite the many errors etc, it's still a great watch. How could the British lose with Boromir, Vision and Captain Hastings on their side.
Puts me in the mood for some Napoleonics so it does. Time to finish off those Pavlovsk Grenadiers.

Still playing TW:W. Starting to drag a wee totey bit, mostly due to endless waves of chaos/norse armies. I just cant seem to make any headway. Feeling a bit glum. may even start painting again... :?

In other stuff news, I went to see Deadpool yesterday, and found it to be very good. Also, Negasonic Teenage Warhead is absolutely my favouritest X-man evaar. I also recognised the name from when it was a song, which just goes to show what kind of useless information one's brain can store when it feels like it.

Incidentally, I spent Saturday night drinking my mate's home brew beer. Surprisingly very drinkable, especially considering it was his first batch. Made me think seriously about trying my own some day. Not like I need another hobby, mind you...

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Yesterday I did some assembly work on some Napoleonic figures, though mainly just as a break from doing WW2 stuff rather than for any anniversary celebrations.

@M_i_J - Originally the character was named after the song.
I hoped you stayed all the way to the very end of the credits. :D

@MiJ+Prim, I didn't realise that the Monster Magnet song had become a character, and that Grant Morrison had written her. I've liked bits of what both have done so I should probably take a closer look at the movie.

(I was going to post in the comic thread that I love Grant Morrison's The Invisibles. Absolutely crackers, as he seemed to throw everything in but the kitchen sink conspiracy theory and pop culture wise, but very rewarding... although it fizzled a bit for me in the last third).

@MtP, Playing with yourself eh? Needs must Pikey-no-mates, needs must.
I've been thinking of developing some kind of AI system for soloing a couple of things, as a way to get some gaming in whilst I'm more shackled to the homestead. I started with some ideas for LOTR SBG. Not as easy as it first seems though.
