Yon new GW community site is shiny indeed. The article about the eldar made me come over all wistful-like. For a bit, anyway. Then I remembered their price-gougy ways and sternly reprimanded myself for my weakness. I shall flog myself with a whip made of spare dark eldar bits as penance.

*PS - what follows is a spoiler for the end of season 4 of clone wars. I don't honestly think it's so important that anybody would care, but just in case: Here be Spoilers.*

In other not-really-news, I was watching Star Wars Clone Wars today, and couldn't help but think that Spider-Maul was pretty darned cool. Nicely bonkers, and bravo on the shaky/twitchy legs. Good animation, that.

(for those wot don't follow CW, but give a hoot about such things, the big yellow Maul-a-like is Savage Opress (that's sah-VAAAAAAAZX OHpress, btw. Continental, like.) He's a bad mutha. Also, he's voiced by Clancy Brown, which earns him automatic kudos, in my book.)

CW is far more hit-and-miss than Rebels, but it can have decent stories from time to time, imho.

Just wait'll you get to the end of Season 5. In true CW fashion, you'll have to get through at least one terrible droid-centric arc to get there, but it's worth the trouble.

I did some work on some 6mm stuff today - a flank company for my Napoleonics, and a couple units of javelineers for my Greeks. Dropfleet is scheduled to arrive by Monday night, so I'm basically treading water till then.

I currently have a pile of Reaper minis on my workbench. Slowly working back and forth in a painting war of attrition. It's funny, some minis practically paint themselves, while others just never seem to look right.

So, I'm fairly happy with the nomnomnom. I had intended for his hair to be black, like the lass I did earlier, but the white is kinda doing it for me, so I may go with that. Unless of course the high commishnah has an opinion, in which case I bow to his wisdom, of course :)

ps those odd reflections on the inside of his thigh and cloak lining arent there in real life. Not sure where they came from, tbh :?

pps - someone asked about the camera used. It's an iphone 4S, with the mini held about 6" in front of it, autofocus onto wooden holder, then move mini forward 1 cm or so. It should be noted that it slightly blurs the picture, making the blends look smoother than they really are

Today I had a cracking game of Flames of War, British Vs Germans. Tanks, infantry and big guns. We visited a gaming saloon that had tables and terrain to use as well as coffee, cake and lots of stuff to buy. It was a lot of fun. Pictures and full report to follow. 3 pound for the day.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

@Mij- mnmmmmm...... I like that there is a hint of that maroon you've got going in the cloak shield and blade there worked into the armor shading. Kids, this is how it is done.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....
