Maybe it's time to rethink your choice of army?
It's the same for me with skulls.

to be fair, skulls suck, too.

This evening I painted...more gems. I'm painting jetbikes, btw. The thing I dislike most about bikes (thank you fr asking, btw :P ) is that they have riders. That effectively doubles the mini-count for painting them. And these bloody bikes have passengers, too. That turns 6 bikes into 18 minis.

All of which have gems.

Well, you could just take a file to them. :?
On the other hand, once they are all finished they'll look marvelous. Ganbatte!

Last night I finished up the base colors and started to get into the edge highlighting on my Alpha Legionnaires. As edge highlighting is No Fun, I'm seriously considering leaving the blue kind of flat and calling it a good 'un, since (unlike regular marines) they have all sorts of edging and spiky greeblies to make up for it.

(As is usual for my painting habits, I'm getting sick of these guys just as I'm moving in to finish 'em. :D I want to get to these next two units of vikings!)

I also ordered some good old 2nd edition starter box gretchin off e-bay for 7GBP 'cause why not?

Weird. I totally get that, too. Every time, I get near the end of a project, whether a single mini, a squad, whatever, and I just lose the will to finish it. Probly something deep and psychological at play...

Seriously, it's my bane in 28mm. I've got a half-finished hive guard sitting in a corner of my table too.

Yeah, that'll do. On to some vikings!

As for me, I finished them thrice accursed jetbikes. Now, onto their thrice accursed riders (and passengers  )

The twinkly diamonds are...whassaword...irridescent. They kinda come and go depending on the light angle (for those that've seen it, it's the same paint as my dark elder flyer). On a related note, I just received delivery of the Mostest Superest Aweseomest Paint EVVVAAAAR the other day: Alclad Holomatic Spectral Chrome. Yes, that is a real paint. And it is Awesome*. 8-)

*well, I say that now, but truth be told I have yet to actually use it on a mini. Knowing my luck, it'll eat holes in the resin or summat. Looked bloody nice on the bit of sprue I tested it on, mind you.

Alclad Holomatic Spectral Chrome- I thought that was one of the panzee special characters? Or maybe what the Farseers shout out when they zap someone.
" Alclad Holomatic Spectral Chrome!" FWOOSH!

But seriously, sweet rides. You are the sultan of swoosh.

Today I realized to my chagrin that while the new batch of bases I ordered are 30mm, the ones I've been using so far were in fact 25mm. D'oh! Ah well, they still fit in the spaces in the ASC boards, and since they're clear it doesn't look particularly egregious.

I also started in on the chainmail on a couple units of viking heavy infantry. (Probably should have just used a silver basecoat, ah well.)
