Finished up the base colors on 16 vikings last night, tonight I'll put sand on the bases and dip 'em. I also assembled a couple trays of medium infantry, so they'll get painted next, unless the gretchin I got off eBay arrive first.

Over the weekend I did some more work on my current batch of Saxons. They are nearly done, just some hair/beards to do and then the bases. I probably could have got more work done, but I've been spending far too much time playing Magic: Duels on my PC.

I've got my first couple of viking units assembled and undercoated, but mostly spent hobby time on the weekend working on some figures for my second Frostgrave warband and some additional walking dead zombies.

Finished up my first couple blocks of hirdmen tonight, less grass on the bases.

Some medium infantry is lined up to be primed tomorrow - I have a fair bunch of 40K stuff coming in the mail, so when that arrives the vikings will probably be sidelined for a bit. Between these guys and the skirmishers, though, I should at least be able to play some Saga before too long.

Finished my first harley biker. 1 down, 5 to go (plus, y'know, the rest of the footsloggers. And a gunboat. Eh. I'll finish them someday... No rush. One of the cleverer things about the new Ynnari list is that it allows eldar players to paint up one or two units from other factions and use them straight away, without the need to paint a whole "new army". As one paints, say, Harleys, they get added to Ynnari list, and once you have enough for a standalone Harley army, off you go. Sure, it's hardly subtle sales technique, but for those of us who already have a buttload of various eldar, it's good motivation to paint one or two of the more challenging units.)

btw, at this (admittedly early) stage, I'm not hating diamonds. Yet. As long as I can keep myself from attempting a whole mini in motley, I reckon I'll make it through. *fingers crossed*

@MiJ Gorgeous work mate. Despite your hate, the gemstones turned out nicely!

I've never used my hand as a palette...does it work well?

Thanks for the kind words, folks. re. thumb colouring: I don't actually use it as a palette. I use it to wipe off excess paint from the brush and get a nice tip on it before applying paint to mini. Most people seem to use their thumbnail, but I've found it buggersome tricky to remove said paint. From the actual thumb, however, it washes off quite happily with soap and water :)
