Not done today, but over the weekend. The Hillshire Halfpints, ready for Shachi Bowl!

(although if anyone has a couple of spare GW BB halflings, I'm 2 short of what I'd like).

I've been steadily working on my dropfleet stuff recently. I've finished off two battlecruisers and a San Fran Troopship (pics once the rest of the fleet is finished), but having started on the Battleship a few days ago, man is that thing kicking my ass. So.Many.Fiddly.Bits :shock: Here's a pic of the bow section of the fleet carrier variant:

That's about the first quarter of the whole ship, plus there are two of em (bows, I mean. I magnetised em.)

ignore the shiny and chrome nature of the metalwork - it'll all get grubbied up come inky time.

on the plus side, I suppose it's certainly not a harlequin. No diamonds, so we must be thankful for small mercies...

Last night I got some work done on a veteran squad for my Scythes - finished up the black and got the first coat down on the yellow.

I also kind of decided that, like I did for Malifaux, I'm going to have to invest in being a Good Terrain Citizen if I plan on getting back into 40K, so I've been looking at some buildings from Miniature Scenery and such.

You are a saint among men, I wish there were more like you.

Nearly finished my battleship. Just the point defence guns and BTL to go

Image

and for what it's worth, I've been eyeing my boxes of unpainted SF terrain thinking "gotta paint that soon" :)

ps the pic doesnt do the sculpt justice. The engines alone are actually pretty stunning in their detail, and it shows up well. It's just that the iphone camera struggles with the reflectivity of the metal paint.

@mij - Nice! Scary, but nice! :D

I finished most of the heavy lifting on my veterans squad today, leaving just the chapter symbol and a little bit of fussing and cursing at decals for unit markings to finish them up. Then as a treat I'll do a captain and honor guard before moving on to the devastators. And then I'll not only have completed the Marines part of my Advanced Space Crusade collection (with at least one squad of every unit on the roster) but I'll also have a cool 60 points of marines for 40K (65 when I get a rhino from Primarch and a razorback turret from forgeworld) to start dipping the old toes in again.

Sorry, the Rhino you're getting from me is a Razorback. There are options for twin Heavy Bolters or twin Lascannon in the box.
