Hello my dudes,

My name is Dom and I am completely new to tabletop games and am looking to start up within the month. I live in Nagahama in Shiga-Ken, which is not too far from Nagoya (about an hour or so). A friend of mine out here (who also told me about this board) has been playing Hordes for quite some time and wants to start playing 40k and got me interested.

I have a millllllllllion and one questions about 40k and whatnot, but I won't flood this intro with it. Anyway, I am hoping I get to meet up with some of you once I do get an army going and look forward to getting into Warhammer 40k (finally).

Hey Dom,
Welcome to NagoyaHammer. If you have any questions on rules/tactics/army lists, be sure to post them in the relevant sections. I'm sure you will get a lot of answers.

Howdy Dom - welcome aboard.

40k is a very fun game to play. It can be a bit intimidating to start, so just remember that you dont need to own an entire space marine legion of 1000 models to have fun (ya hear that, Primarch!). Most of the players round here have been playing for a loooooong time, as a result of which they have a large collection and (usefully) between they know most everything there is to know about the game. Theyre also generally a very friendly bunch who will be happy to give you a game (that includes myself, btw. I play Eldar and nurgle Chaos Marines.)

So yeah, come along to the Nagoya games if you can. We usually meet on the last sunday of every month (thats the 26th, this month) and play a variety of games. There's actually quite a few japanese guys that go too, but they tend not to be on these forums. We'd like em to be, though :D

The thread for setting up games for this month's games is here, but feel free to wander around the rest of the forum, too.

enjoy :D

Hi Dom,

I've been playing 40K for less than half a year now. It'd be nice to see another new player around! I'll leave answering questions to the more experienced players but I'd be happy to play against you some Sunday. I have a Tau army.

Hey everyone,

I should introduce myself as well. My name is Corey and I also live in Shiga near Dom. I've played Hordes since release but have very little experience with 40k-- I'm having a little trouble with the jump but it's super fun so far and I'm excited to get into it further. I'll be playing Tyranids and I re-watched Alien last night to get myself pumped to model ;)

More later, looking forward to playing with everyone!

Welcome Corey.
Glad to have you with us. Feel free to post wherever you like. If you want advice on 40k, modelling, painting or whatever, put your questions up and one of our so called "experts" will point you in the right direction. I play 'nids myself so let us know how your games against the green tide go.

ah. badruck has arrived.

RUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

nah. to be fair, when I say "ive never beaten orks", its badruck that im talking about. He has....huge amounts of them. He can turn up with a bunch of meganobz in battlewagons, or 180 boyz, or a bunch of killa kanz and deffdredz. There's no way to predict what he's gonna bring. There's also the fact that Orks are just damn hard to beat anyway.

Try not to take him too seriously, though. And as for the orky typing. He aint pretending, there. he really does type like that. All the time

(in his favour, he's probably a good guy to teach you the ropes. Nice bloke, and does know his orks. Doesnt know his rulebook very well, but he does know his orks :P )

I've played Hordes since release but have very little experience with 40k
as an aside, quite a few of us here have made the jump in the opposite direction and have started playing WarmaHordes in the past few months. So, if you find yourself in our area, you're welcome to a game of 40k, where you can learn the ropes, and then WarmaHordes, when you can show us how it's done :D
