Say what now? What now?? Yodobashi in sakae stocks GW? How's the selection?

Oh and congratulations on such a fine purchase. They are glorious! I'm also glad I'm not the only one with them.
Also could i get a lift on Sunday, since I live just down the road? Ta
Yuss! They seemed to have pretty much everything that's out for 8th so far - both sizes of starter set (not dark imperium), all the easy-fit kits (intercessors, rievers, plague marines, poxwalkers). (Which reminds me, do you want the plague marines and poxwalkers from first strike?) Didn't see the primaris characters, so they may just be focusing on new-to-the-hobby stuff - they didn't have a whole lot of shelf space devoted to it. Plus all the paints, but they've been carrying those for a bit.

And sure! I'll PM ya.

(Yellow is not quite done.) The main question is, do I want to take this opportunity to do a soft reboot to my paint scheme and make the weapon casings something other than black? I find that they sort of blend in with the armor a bit more than I like, especially since the relative brightness of the gold kills the highlights on the black a bit. Red, maybe?

How about just doing the whole weapon a dull steel (either black lightly drybrushed with gunmetal, or gunmetal with a couple of washes of black)?

Nice marines, very bigly indeed. I'd second AGP's suggestion of making the guns a little more metallic. If I may also offer one small critique, having the pouches and webbing the same colour as the armour looks a little strange. You could break up the model a bit by having a slightly different colour on the pouches.
E.g. the armour is black with a hard edge highlight. I'd do the pouches in a dark grey with a black wash. This will make them appear different from the rest of the model, differentiate between armour and textile/leather/grox-hide and adds a little more colour for not a lot more work.
Just my 2 yen's worth.

Yeah, they're not nearly done - I was actually thinking I'd make the pouches a medium brown to get some more warmth in and kind of fill in the big dark area between the yellow on the shoulders / backpacks and the yellow on the knees. The monopose Dark Vengeance dudes I got the other week had pouches sculpted on too, and brown looked nice on them.

Hmm, I'll think about the guns, maybe test one up in gunmetal.

Spraying top coat on my UCM cruisers now. Still need to get the frigates done, but they should be easier.

I'm back from Texas (yeehaw!), so no hobby recently but some small purchasing. Got a copy of Lost Patrol for $35 and picked up the new 40K rulebook and some expansions for Walking Dead.

Marines most bigly indeed. I always wanted to do a little Mentor Legion army....no, no, no....
Do need to get the Squat Orks out on the table and see how horribly Orks die with these new rules.
I've been painting a bit, after a loooong time. Got some Diggachicks done. Two more in the works, but decided after I got a wash on them to carve off half their faces and give it another go. They sort of looked like this.

The ones I finished look like this https://yaktribe.org/community/data/pho ... 737754.jpg You can see the WIPs and whatnot there in my Gallery. Watch out! The one in the middle is more nekkid than the usual Digga. I started putting some beads and straps and nothing looked right, so said to heck with it. Nothing there Gork (or possibly) Mork did not give her.

Orks are apparently pretty good so far this edition!

Last night I got a package from Sarissa, so now I have a couple hab pods for 40K - they won't be painted for Sunday, but they're all put together and lovely as always for Sarissa kits.

I also got a pack of grots I got off eBay like 6 weeks ago and were so late I assumed they were lost in the mail and already got a refund for them. :? Ethical dilemma time! (Small ethical dilemma - they were like 5GBP - but still.)
