What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
I went over to yodobashi camera today to see for myself the fabled store of GW stock. It was glorious. No, i didn't buy anything though.

Today I spent well over an hour applying decals to some US armoured vehicles. Once they weee done, I put some sand on a bunch of bases and assembled some MDF buildings. Not a bad day's work.

I was flocking bases until late last night, hopefully I should be able to put some pictures up this evening.

Re: What did you do today.
I have just not been in much of a painting mood recently. I managed to do some work on a few more 'Nids for ASC, a Space Marine Scout and put some work into a Terminator Librarian last night, but not with much enthusiasm. Just tired after a long weekend and busy work schedule recently perhaps.
My assembled and undercoated vikings keep staring at me, and I keep staring back contemplating what colours to use. I just need to get a few done to build some momentum perhaps?

Today I finished off the last couple of bits and pieces on this month's batch of minis.
A ruined house:

A train station:

Some American Armour. (From left to right, an M20, an M8 and an M10):

Some Bolt Action support units. The Pak40 is from Warlord, the two MG teams are by Black Tree Design:

And a whole bunch of Saxons:

@prim: love that house ruin. And i may have to get some of those priest minis. The more I look at them the more i want to stick servo skulls and purity seals on them...maybe replace an arm with an auspex.
I got my airbrush valve in the mail, and we are back in business! Praise be!
Let's document the painting of a primarch. When you Blast him to bits on the tabletop, acknowledge at least the monumental effort it took to make him look prim and proper.

The Emperor's flaming sword. Extra fiery.

All shiny and chrome!

Re: What did you do today.
What's with the chrome eh? That's the ancient Chinese technique for painting gold. Very ancient!
Here are apply the gold over the silver for excellent coverage.

We also went with a red/purple hue to the metallics to give it a lovely aged, rustic look.

Next step the cobalt blue of the ultramarines is layered on, the first of many layers.
I also botched the face something fierce. It's currently sitting in simple green.

@Jus - Nice work!
I might have a couple of spare monks at home if you're interested?

Nice job on girlyman there, Jus. The gold in particular is a good technique. May I be so bold as to point out that your firey sword is...hum, shall we say, thermally innacurate? It should (technically, I mean - aesthetically it looks fine as it is) be yellow/white at the base of the flames/base of the sword, grading through orange/red into black at the end of the flamey bits and tip of the sword. Just saying

Re: What did you do today.
Good stuff, jus! I notice old Cawl put his stamp right on the primarch's back there...
I just got back from a weekend in the mountains today, so hopefully I'll get back on the reivers on my desk this evening. I also shelled out 40 bucks for the electronic version of the space marine codex 'cause why not, I guess. Nothing exactly surprising in there, and a lot of stratagems and such that I'll probably not be able to remember to use in play 'til I actually get the rules down a bit more, but still. It also (predictably) got me thinking about a shopping list of things to get after my initial Blast of Primaris I'll be getting from the good Mr. MiJ (along with a dreadnought from jus and some assault marines from Primarch...) later this month.
