Not much painting during the Japanese humid heat, some of my W.I.P.

@J-R - Nice, the walking tank is pretty cool.

All in all, a fun day of gaming.
I certainly enjoyed my intro game at Nagoya Hammer this year, enough to make me invest in a few Vikings myself. :)
Pikey's beard certainly helped out his Vikings. You'd best stop shaving if you want to stand a chance.

I shall certainly keep that in mind. Is there a required length or simply a comparison of beard bushiness between the two combatants?

Saga is great fun. The battle boards and dice allocation are a cool mechanic.
And yes, the length of one's beard is also a real game factor. If there's s draw in the dice roll for setting up, the player with the most impressive facial hair wins! Prim and I have had 3 games and we have had 2 draws.
I haven't even finished my Vikings but I'm thinking about adding a new faction. Bretons? Irish?

I played my second game of 8th edition last night; I fielded a Baneblade, a Leman Russ, a Vanquisher and a Destoyer tank hunter against three Imperial Knights. And got grannied. :( I had one Knight down to one wound, but then the damaged Baneblade simply couldn't land a hit before being ganged up on by two Knights, and the Knight Gallant crushed two tanks in as many turns with its horrible power fist (and managed to throw the first tank at the second one and inflict some damage)!

I'm quite happy with the way big stuff plays; I was a little worried it wouldn't work at such an extreme, but it was fine.

As for falling back, the main drawback is that the unit that fell back a) can't do anything useful that turn, and b) is just going to get charged again unless some other unit can shoot up the enemy you fell back from.
True, but B is quite an attractive proposition! :)

You know, if I had had these guys on my team, I'd have given that dreadnaught a run for its money!! :D

He didn't hurt any dinosaurs did he? Killing elves is okay, but hurting dinosaurs is just animal cruelty and I won't stand for it!

Finished up a couple more bits and bobs for my Scythes for gaming on Sunday - a (non-primaris) lieutenant with a combi-flamer, a legally-armed terminator sergeant (since the one I have has an ASC-mandated power fist) and a terminator with a thunder hammer (giving me a legal terminator assault squad should I decide I want to field one). I also put together the half a box of primaris hellblasters I split with jus. Sort of a fiddly build, but they're lovely models.
Feel free to call me Dave!
