Sisters of Battle is a VERY expensive army to buy at the moment since all the models are metal. There are rumours saying they may be released at the end of next year in plastic, but they are only rumours.
Man, if there's anything that could get me back into 40K, it's plastic Sisters.

Oye! Oye! Oye! More Orks! Yes! Yes! Yes! Get your Black Reach and get killin'!!!! Orks is the best! You can kill stuff up close with all sorts of brutal, spikey choppy things and have a good laugh. You can kill stuff from a distance with great, big, LOUD! GUNZ! (though I like Rokkits) and have a good laugh. You can blow yourself up with crazy malfunctioning weaponry, psychic powers, etc and have a good laugh. I don't have much advice to give about taktiks and whatnot as I seldom think about it that much. Power Klaws are dead killy, a Nob without a Klaw is only half a Nob. Trukks are crazy fun. Keep your Boyz in big Mobz. When you fight Tyranids, choose which bug has to die and pour everything into until it is dead. They won't run away and a Tyrant with only one Wound left in his turn will shred you that turn as well as one with all Wounds left.
One other piece of advice is don't get in such a hurry to charge and start krumpin' stuff in hand to hand that you forget your shooting phase. Or is that just a problem only I have...........

I hear ya. I'd have to collect an army of SoB.

well now if there is not a lot of talk about Orks here from folks that only know how to lose to orks... not win with them... Listen to Konrad though he and I have never lost a game when we have teamed up on the guys in Our group...

About Orks... Every Unit in the Codex as a use and would there-fore be very help full the top ten Ork units the order could be a bit off but it is what I like and IMHOrkO are the best of a great Codex

1 WARBOSS
2 BOYZ MOBS 30 strong with NOB and POWER CLAW and 3 big shootaz (you should take at least one if not 3 of these.
3 Storm Boyz 20 strong with the special Karicta as an up grade this unit will mangle any thing it hits and die as soon as it get cut to less than 10
4 Boyz MOBZ 12 strong in a truck with a red Ram and a Nob packing Power Klaw and Big shooter
5 Nobz 10 strong all with unique gear so that they can make use of wound allocation.. Pain Boy is a must Battle Wagon is a optional unit that will get them where you want them to be a bit faster or you could take a truck and save a heap of points.
6 Deff koptaz they are very good they can do a lot with the scout move I like them with Twin Linked Rokket Launchaz and in a unit 5 strong with a Buzz Saw
7 LOOTAZ they are you best Elite choice as you should always take them the models cool and you get lots of extar bits with them... take a unit of 15 and drop a warboss or a Big Mekk in Mega Amour in them... then your enemy will not even want to assault them.
8 Killer Kanz they are a very good way for taking down Land Raiders and other armored units... they cant crush most units in Cobat and they can let loose with a lot of shooting I take 6-9 of them every game. against Marines the can really lay down the hurt...
9 Komandoz with Snikrot 15 strong with two burnaz
10 Mega Nobz these are just plain deadly you can mush most any unit in the game take them as a troop choice with your war boss and stand them in cover on an objective... and say come get some no one will go near it...

Thats cos yooz only played against me...

...if you have about 500 bucks spare cash...

Ignore the Madmiral. He assumes everyone is as mad as he is and has as much spare mini-buying funds as he does...

SoBs are one of those "really out of date" armies I mentioned before. If I was your friend, Id hang in there, wait a few months, and see what the new codex brings. Itd almost certainly be worth his wait.

Or, just tell your friend to play eldar. Theyre the Cool Guys army :D

With regards to no-power-claws-in-the-box, I reckon you just have to model a mini as looking different somehow, and say "excuse me mister opponent. Mr Green Hair here has a power claw. is that ok" and wait for your very reasonable opponent to say "why yes, of course".

Once youve gotten a few games in, you can worry about the investment required to WYSIWYG every miniature in your army.

Ignore MIJ as he spends every bit as much money on his armies... If you were going to get in to... fishing, paint Ball or Airsoft you could spend what you would on a first rate Airsoft or paintball gun or fishing rod and have a bit left over... I spent 50,000 on my Orks and I have More models than I know what to do with... Konrad has far less and dose every bit as well as I do in tournaments and pick up games. Black reach is a great start. 2 sets is good but 3 sets is better you can make looted Deff Dreads out of the Marines... plus there are no bad units in the box for Orks or Space Marines you really can't go wrong.

the point of the top ten is they are the units you can not go wrong with 1500 points of anything on that list is a very good combo.

one other unit that could be good is the Mad Dok a bit of a point drain. but he is very much worth it if you do not mind rage in one of your units...

Sisters of Battle?? do they still make them is that still and army? I have not seen them in like 4 years

Mate, you have a ForgeWorld Titan AND a Forgeworld Superheavy tank. Last time I checked, they weren't selling them down the 100yen store!

False alarm on the SoB comment. He is actually going Black Templars. Rockin'

All of this stuff about Orks, Claws, Big Shootas, etc. is so damn exciting, but also quite confusing, haha. I just wanna play now! lol.

If I were to make a normal Nob with a "claw" could I just swap out his arm without the claw for the one with it when I get it?

Also, when is this new edition supposed to be coming out? I am gonna end up having to buy a new codex right after purchasing this one or something? :(

Its not a new edition, rather some codexes are very old and they are updating the range one book at a time.
In November Dark Eldar get a new book. Daemon Hunters are rumoured to be coming out in the first quarter of next year. After that, Necrons, Black Templars, and Witch Hunters are in line for new books. Following those will be Tau, Dark Angels and Eldar. (no particular order here). The new books are usually released at a rate of 2-3 a year. 6th Edition is probably at least 2 years off and Orks are way down the line for a new book. So dont worry about that.

Definitely an Ork player.

If you use the Black Reach models, you dont even need to glue the arms on the models. They have small pegs to hold them in place. As and when you buy a set which has a power klaw in it, just chop off the peg and glue the arm on.
