What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
Hmm, those are a little dissimilar. Is there a big difference in their ages?

Turns out it is actually a different paint. Apparently Vallejo reformulated their gold a while back, so it’s not so much a case of it being wrong, per se, just that they made a decision to change the paint mix. Meh - it’s no biggie, since the new one is nicer. Still haven’t used it, but VMA haven’t failed me yet.

Re: What did you do today.
Vallejo bottles are really handy. A marked contrast to GW's (to quote the Badrukk) "Made to fail" pots. If GW put their paint in a proper bottle I'd switch. Over all I like the quality better. Vallejo is sort of hit or miss. Some are great. Some have weird consistency. The problem is the separation. I have to put a ball bearing in each bottle and almost always have to give them a good shake before using. Metallic excepted. Vallejo Metallic paint is golden. As MIJ demonstrated.me_in_japan wrote:Turns out it is actually a different paint. @MIJ- are you brushing on those air-paints by hand?

@konrad - both. It works well going on by brush and is fine in the ab. That said, older pots clog a bit, so you’ve got to be careful.

@MIJ- Cheers, I pick up a test bottle and see how it handles
And here is some progress on that Saga job. Not done yet, still need shields and bases. I just got the remainder of the batch a couple days ago. Nomad horse and some Vikings. I'm going to put the Moors aside and get those done and shipped off next.
Let it be said right now. Metal cav is a major, major PITA. I spent hours scraping and puttying and pinning.

Re: What did you do today.
Awesome work as always, Konrad!
VMA metallics are some next-level stuff - I use them with a brush and they're wonderful. The Vallejo Mecha line is also very nice for super-saturated colors, if anyone hasn't checked them out.
Personally I spent the weekend stranded in Iwate and Tokyo by a typhoon, so no hobby was to be done. On the workbench are three tyranid warriors for my kill team, though, and as I'm picking up Nightvault this weekend those two warbands will probably jump the queue over the rest of my Stormcast when they get in.

@Konrad - Nice, I like the evil vizier looking guy. Very Aladdin.
@ToD - Still going all in on Shadespire then? Can you mix any of the new warbands with the old ones, or are they completely stand-alone groups?
Yesterday I managed a tiny bit of work on some cars for Gaslands and assembled some Bolt Action infantry.

Yeah! Even though it hasn't caught on in the local group, I play once or twice a month up with the Ichinomiya guys.Primarch wrote:@ToD - Still going all in on Shadespire then? Can you mix any of the new warbands with the old ones, or are they completely stand-alone groups?
Nightvault is totally compatible with Shadespire - it's really better to think of it as an updated core set with a little bit of rules clarification and a new magic system (and eight new warbands, of course) rather than a new game per se.

Re: What did you do today.
Oh, I'm not complaining!
As I said, I'm playing the game as much as I'd like - it's just that most of the Nagoya group has other priorities with their gaming time, as you say.
