What did you do today.

@Koji - Yep, soon as our schedules line up.
@YS - After the last game I think Det. Donny Chen needs all the help he can get.
@ToD - Thanks. I like the colours you've used on the Ur-Ghuls. Tad also seems to appreciate the bling as well. I guess poverty isn't a requirement to show devotion in the Imperium.

Nice ghouls.
Prim, are you going into H&K movies now?
I've been staring all week at a mini building made from GW terrain pieces I have halfway. If I want the interior accesible for minis I'm not going to be able to add a ground piece or the whole ceiling...

Re: What did you do today.
Another alter. I've decided to do one of each land in this style, then try something else (aheheh. Maybe paint a mini or two?)

My thoughts on this: The lily pad at the side of the swamp box is fairly nice, and the general overal impression works fine, but the bits I painted seem hella blurry compared to the original bit (i.e. everything inside the box). How the heck do the pros get such fine lines (and I appreciate the original art was probly way bigger than this then scaled down, but still, pro alterists seem to manage. But how...

Re: What did you do today.
Very nice! I'm impressed at your color-matching skills (and, well, the whole insane painting skills too of course - the seamlessness of the match is just what stood out).
I've been working on my first squad of Traitor Guard for Blackstone - still very monochromatic, all feldgrau and german gray, but man are they ever some nice models.

Well, I'm no expert (obviously), but as this is the third alter you have shown I'm going to guess the pros do a lot more than three before they reach the standard they are happy with.me_in_japan wrote:How the heck do the pros get such fine lines (and I appreciate the original art was probly way bigger than this then scaled down, but still, pro alterists seem to manage. Seriously mate, that is amazing work. Don't sweat it if it's not up to the standards of people who have been doing such things for way longer than you. Keep trying, watching videos and keep sharing your results here.

Re: What did you do today.
I finished up my first batch of traitor guard today:

Man, I cannot stress how much I love these models - so much character. These poor doomed bastards have literally been through hell, and are doing the best they can, but they're not dealing very well.

@Miguelsan - Nice caryatids, the bronze looks pretty cool.
@ToD - PTSD and a charismatic dark apostle can really have an impact on an impressionable guardsman. They look awesome.
And sharing some of my own work from last weekend.

With special thanks to Job for the minis. They are monopose and fairly old (except for the Troll which is from Reaper), but they were fun and easy to paint up. I think they came out quite nicely.

Re: What did you do today.
Lovely traitor guard there, Dave. And I agree with what you said on fb - it's great to see they're not just "IG with spikes on", but are very much their own thing.
Also, nice orks, Prim - so are you playing bloodbowl now? When did that happen?
