It's been pretty fun painting the new "bone guys" with Contrast since skeletons seem like the one of the most suited model types for Contrast. Hopefully it holds up just as well with the larger models too. I'm eager to try them out on the tabletop too so hopefully we can get more people interested in playing AoS soon. The only thing I'm not too eager about is transporting them given how thing and spindly some of their bits are.

The zenithal highlight looks pretty good. It's nice to see that its doable with just rattlecans too. Moaning Myrtle (thats what the WC stands for right?) and her pals look great, especially for something that only took you 4 days.

Hopefully they add the Ossiarch Bonereapers to the playable Warcry factions since the Lizardmen seem to be far too civilized (too civilized for the cities of Sigmar too) for that sort of thing.

Still, WarCry was fun (although, as mij notes, we struggled a bit with getting some of the scenarios to work)
What do you think about trying the Matched Play missions/just the symmetrical cards? I like the zaniness of using the cards as is (especially since I've played enough games to have had the swings and roundabouts more or less even out) but I do worry a bit about the first game experience for people.

First game experience would probably also massively benefit from using the Chaos teams,
I finished these ghosties up just in time on Saturday afternoon - a super-fast paint job even for me, 4 days or so from bare plastic to finish.
Awesome job! I'm looking forward to playing against them, especially once I've laid my hands on their Dreadfane compatriots.

@Jye - Oh, we'd all played WC before - it probably just came down to having to use the (fairly limited) multiplayer scenarios. TBH most of my middling experiences have been with multiplayer games, so it may be that.

Oh yeah, for three player specifically I don't think Warcry comes off well vs Underworlds. The hidden objectives are amusing though.

More table-ready marines! This means I can assemble the third box of Start Collecting Primaris Space Wolves I picked up last week, along with some more termies.

Hopefully I can bring a fully painted (if not optimal) army for my game against Tallgeese next week! The problem being I can't easily field everything I've already painted together - and because I'm an idiot that golden-helmed Primaris Battle Leader isn't actually a legal model, since no Primaris HQ can take a chainsword and mini marine HQs come on smaller bases 😅

@Jye - That's no ordinary chainsword, that is the legendary blade 'Wyrmsbane,' forged by Leman Russ during the Great Crusade. Passed down from champion to champion over the millenia it is said that the wielder fights with the fury of the Primarch himself.
In game terms it functions as a power sword or whatever stats it's supposed to have.
If you can field female marines, you can certainly use a model with a chainsword.

As it happens there are some very good relic powerswords Primaris Captains and Lts can equip!

I've been a very heavy user of "counts-as" in Kill Team (people have accepted a surprising range of things as frag cannons), but I'm trying to steer clear of crossing base sizes in 40K proper, due to the proliferation of auras and the "1 inch of 1 inch" rule making it a slight but real case of modelling for advantage. Luckily I think you've nailed it with the power sword, and I could probably persuade people to accept that model as Kor'sorro Khan rules wise as long as they accept the basic argument that birds and guns are really very similar when you get right down to it.

@Jye - Why did you buy/paint Space Wolves if you want White Scars?

buggeration! Who knew that ctrl-W closes windows in firefox? Anyone? Cos I didnt, but I bloomin well do now! The typo from hell! Gah!

Anyway, right, well - where was I...

Ah, yes, almost at the end of a well thought-out and reasonable post wondering about the ethics of proxying Wolves as Scars, that's where I was. Blinkin' poetry, that post was...

Anyway, short version is: Lady Marine conversion is very nice, btw - excellent dynamism and movement (as per original model) but also pairs very well with shield and power-armoury-ness. The mould line makes me sad, though. And...why proxy what are definitely Wolves as Scars? I'm intrigued...

You've got to wonder why designers put mould lines in places that are really tough to clean up without damaging the mini.
