I meant to post these last night. My first entry for the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge.

The world needs more camels.

Over the past couple days I basically got the legs finished up on the third reaver - it's interesting (to me) how much faster the painting has been going than the first couple titans I did in this scheme. It's easy when you know how, I guess. May even finish it up before the year's out, knock on wood. Then I can work on assessing what's become a pretty big blob of a backlog, with nothing that really cries out "paint me immediately." (TBQH, a lot of my hobby daydreaming lately has been about posing and basing the utterly superfluous second warlord I have, so I may just jump on that.)

Me again!

I spent the last couple days cheerfully assembling a bunch of MDF terrain I got from TTCombat's holiday sale:

And now my fingers and hobby room will smell like charred wood for the next week or so.

Yes, I did just get rid of some Kill Team terrain for real cheap, just to replace it with this. TBH I wanted something a bit more... vertically interesting? than the Sector Imperialis terrain, and this has a nice Necromunda-ish platformy feel. I have no idea what to do with the massive building in the back - it'll work for 40K of course, but I honestly have no place to put the thing. I'll figure something out I'm sure.

Fortunately, rattlecans, grimy washes and sponge chipping go a long way towards getting terrain done. :D It should be quick once I get down to it, knock on wood.

I haven't done any modeling since the last game day but my wife bought me a modular hobby station which I almost have together. I have been reading a lot of rules and such - I bought the Kill Team core book and the Death Guard Codex - I am looking for a Warcry core box set but I can't find one in English. Oh, well.

Today I put finishing touches on this guy:

Because a reaver with a chainfist and motive sub-reactors is a problem that no-one can ignore. Not bad for the first model finished in the year! (Yeah, yeah, I started it a couple weeks ago back in the misty past of 2019, but still.)

Looking good! Almost makes me wish I played Titanicus :)

Today I eased myself back into hobby with some assembly, I have LOTS of marines that showed up as extra value in Start Collectings etc, a Primaris Chaplain that I bought in Harajuku despite having a very nice minimarine Chaplain (painted by someone else) already* and some models that belong on flying stands and need to be periodically glued back on them.

My Idoneth eels now have very...dynamic...swimming poses thanks to the angles I propped them up at when waiting for the damn glue to set. When your hobbying has been largely restricted to slapping together new plastic kits with very fast plastic glue you don't seem to build up the patience veterans have for holding two things together for however long it takes for them to become one thing!

*The Kill Team attitude of "must have maximum variety available to cope with all opponents and missions" is great for a 20 model roster and awful for a TAC wargame when you're playing the faction with the most units.
