Nice! It really looks good.

I got the first bits done on the scrubs for my Cypher Lords for WarCry:

Image

Not a great picture, but that's some basic pre-shading (black undercoat, gray rattlecan zenithal, sepia-tone wash, white drybrush) then straight dark yellow (Iyanden Yellow) and mid-dark skintone (Darkoath Flesh) Contrast on the relevant bits. Not too bad! The lighter colors of contrast don't sit too well over darker undercoats, as is to be expected, but I like the overall effect, especially on the skin. Plus it's quick, of course.

Got to work on my lighting set-up. But here she is. Job's a good 'un! Lots of stuff I'd go back and fix if I had a time machine. The legs should be spread out a bit to compensate for the heaviness of the iron jaw and horns. The choppa arm does not sit well where I had to re-join it at the elbow. The pose was supposed to be a determined, one-foot-in-front-of-the-other, sort of pace. But I think now they should have been spread out a bit more to compensate for the heaviness of the jaw and horns. She's about 10% too big..and I might trim a cup size off too.

Also got some work done on the Digga-sniper. The pouches on the back don't set quite right, but she'll have a big old pistol slung under her arm and a scabbard slung over her back to cover them up a bit. I wish I could have put some beads and bits in her hair to post apocalyptic-savage it up, but just getting it to be anything but a blob was all I could do. Head is I think the 4th one, and still a little too big.

And watch out! Neither have a top on. Not quite safe for work.

@ToD - Cool looking henchlings.
@Konrad - I'm constantly impressed by your sculpting, the Necro-digga-chick looks great.

A couple of my recent efforts.

6 Giant Toads for D&D/TnT wandering monsters.

And Oda Nobunaga and a couple of his retainers.

Those toads are lit - where're the models from?

I pretty much finished up my Cypher Lords today. The 6 minions are done, and the leader and champion about half done. This is my first project relying heavily(-ish) on Contrast, and I'm turning into a fan. They're a bit tricky, since different paints in the line can have very different coverage qualities, so you need some practice (the flesh tone I'm using in particular seems to really like two thin coats, GW ad copy be damned), but with care the results are really really nice for very little work. Skin in particular I don't think I'm ever going back to traditional methods.

The toads are from a set of pre-painted D&D minis that were released years ago. I have no idea why I have half a dozen of them. They came in randomised boxes and I guess the toads were one of the more common minis.

I finished up my Cypher Lords this morning, squeaking them in under the line for a January finish.

As I've been saying, not half bad for a quick, drybrush-and-Contrast focused paint job.

Good show! They look great, all hail Contrast :)

I'll paint my own someday (they're primed), but I somehow put 1500+ of Sisters ahead of them in the queue. I'm making slow progress assembling there, just hoping to get everything glued for the 23rd.

Putty-ed this guy up for Frostrave. A counts-as-marksman/crossbowman, Chaos Dwarf with a big gun! There is a Mantic Dwarf under all that putty. I can see it's really blobby and not very well done. (But then, so was the original Mantic figure...) Some of that is due to experimenting with an incandescent lamp to speed up the curing and melted it a bit. oops. Image

Love dat hat!

I prepped up a couple Underworlds warbands (the Condemnors and the Godsworn Hunt, for those keeping tally) to prime up tonight if the wind dies down. I think I'm going to shoot for some more Contrast-centric paint jobs with them since I'm sort of just politely interested in both of them but want to keep working at my backlog.
