I continue to clog the thread up with my on-fire Contrast-fueled painting frenzy, but here's Skaeth's Wild Hunt:

Image

Just a simple palette swap from the studio models (orange hair and red armor -> teal hair and blue armor) but I like the way the ocean-y colors turned out, and I did promise you all Full Anime Hair. :lol: Thanks Karantu for the snakebite leather over metal tip - it makes aged gold a breeze. Mostly I need to work on my putty skills - the big seam on the centaur's back looked fine-ish to me before priming, but the contrast paints picked it right out. Importantly, I'll have a solid match-up for demo games on Sunday, as beastmen versus stormcast might be a rough one thanks to the beastmens' (?) particular inspire condition.

Yesss, anime hair. They look great, I think you're really going to make this game look appealing in demos!

@Jye - that's bloody nice, that is. White's always a bit tricksy to do, and that termi looks just right. I appreciate that it's a pale grey rather than white, but same principle :) Job's a good 'un, I say.
That's very kind of you to say right after Dave's expert work :) The truth is it's Space Wolf Grey that I slapped on in about 15min at the end of lunch time, then popped on the other colours after dinner. The constrast jobs don't hold up vs real skill and technique on close examination but they do alright across the table or across the internet!
You are too humble - it looks perfect to me

I think that's enough time spent on these lovely contraptions of death. I just finished up a few more of the details. Contrast works decently well for cockpits at this scale. Anyway, time to move on to the Imperial aircraft next. Not sure what colour I want to go for though. I'm almost sold on a blue to contrast the red Orks.

@ToD, @Jye & @Karantu - Nice work guys.

Last night I finished up all of the painting on my army for Sunday's game. I need to do the basing and add flags tonight/tomorrow and I'll be all set.

Looking great! Now give in to the fungus side of the force and build the oppressive hordecrusher deck that you were born to run!

That's the best looking pile of fungi that I've seen in a while. Well done!

That'll probably be the ogre, really - Hrothgorn's ability to load up on as many as 5 objective-removing gambits makes him potentially the consummate ghoul-blocker. That said, I do want to try out Mollog in the current meta at least once or twice. He's still got legs, I reckon.

lovely troll there, Dave. I've come to the conclusion that you're pretty damn good with contrast paints. The more I look at your work, the more I see how neat it is. I mean that literally - each zone of colour is very precisely differentiated from the next. Top job, sir *tips hat*
