Just the Chosen Axes and the Farstriders, both of which Joshin happens (happened) to have sitting on their shelves... Cards are in Japanese, but eh. :D
If you ever need to borrow their faction cards in eigo I don't use mine so give a shout.

I may! Still not sure I'll ever actually, you know, play them, and it'll really only be the 10 or so still-worth-taking faction in-cards each deck though, so I can probably muddle through.

argh, save me jeebus. Not only are my kids stuck at home for the foreseeable future cos of school being off, but me fricking telly's gone on the blink!! Why god, why? It's like the universe is telling me to paint more, or even (brrrr) read a book

*edit* Actually, if anybody has any wise words regarding the purchase of TVs, I'm all ears. To be fair to it, my old telly was pretty old, so anything I get will likely far outstrip what I'm used to in terms of picture quality. I'm not looking to break the bank (mouths to feed, and all that) but if anyone has recommendations, I'm keen to hear them. Yoroshiku :)

Got in some BA recently - early war French v Germans in Belgium 1940. Armoured platoons all round as early war tanks pinged rounds off each other! Armour 9 Char B1 vs early war Germans is like taking a Tiger!

I bought a TV about 5 months ago (that is approximately a million years in TV time so take with a grain of salt) when I moved here. What I did was bought the nice Sony in the size I wanted *from the year before*. Reviews indicated that it had the same picture quality as the current year, but because of its weird form factor (it's like a picture frame, on a slight angle with the guts of the hardware in the stand rather than the screen), it was significantly cheaper. At the time Edion had a good deal on it, and my neighbourhood Joshin price matched.

If you're happy to take points, you can probably get a good deal - there were some points invovled in ours which I promptly turned into video games :) But Yodabashi or Joshin points could be easily converted into GW stuff!

This is the one I picked up and it's been excellent: https://www.sony.jp/bravia/products/KJ-A9F/ - but there's lots of good TVs and I think the principle of "Discounted high end TV from last year beats cheap but full price TV from this year" will serve you well.

@Jye - thanks, mate! I eventually pulled the trigger on a Sharp TV, but applied your wise words of "buy an older one cos it's probly much the same as a newer one and costs less". Another mate of mine elsewhere was happy with his, and I saw the this-year's-model at K's denki today and it looked purty and stuff. So, it should be delivered on Thursday (!) so the kids (and I) will need to survive sans televisual entertainment until then. I foresee our poor wee ancient iPad getting put through its paces in the coming days...(and the PC also, most likely...)

Got the first layer of rust on the fort. I'll go back and highlight and dry-brush bits and details that are getting lost in the wash. Really want to get some pigment and see what I can do with that. Image

And sorry about the picture quality. I'm experimenting with lighting and some how the brighter I make it, the darker the camera adjusts for it. Have to do a bit of homework and figure out what's up.

Also finished up a Digga. A re-do of an earlier sculpt. Might go back and try to fix her face a bit more, but it looks much better than the first go.

And speaking of re-do. I'm going to re-do the rider for my flying Diggateradon. the original turned out way to small. She'd be petite at 25mm and is positively diminutive at 32.

Awesome stuff as always!

I primed up the naked slayer dorf warband for underworlds last night (and the iron golem for warcry, but they may wait a bit), assembled the farstriders I picked up with my payday money at Joshin yesterday, and stripped and prepped Garrek's reavers for a repaint - I was looking at all my underworlds stuff the other day and kind of shocked at how much my painting has improved over the past year and a half when I did them up. (Incidentally, on a tip from Spevna I used the green Magikkurin kitchen cleanser to strip them and it really did the job. Paint just sloughed off after about 90 minutes in the tub.)

And some more of this contrast nonsense from me:

Image

2 years late to the party*, but here's the Chosen Axes. I have to say, the Fyreslayers aren't really my favorite thing to come out of AoS, but spending time with the models has (as usual) helped me appreciate them - a lot of character packed into these guys, and there's something nicely metal (no pun intended) about hammering magical golden runes directly into your flesh.

*For those not up on their 2-year-old Shadespire meta lore, these guys were never a particularly strong warband (their absolute beast of a leader notwithstanding) but one of the universal cards in their pack was kiiinda overpowered (narrator: it was extremely overpowered), so everyone bought the set just for that card but never used the poor angry dorfs. Thankfully, the rules team has learned a lot since then, so meta-shattering individual cards are pretty much not a thing.

It's also worth mentioning that, when these guys were released, I disliked them for having two models that are difficult to distinguish - you have leader guy, two-handed axe guy, and two double axe guys - but then they released the banshees, a warband of four models identical in all but pose.
