Day 21 of quarantine, Roll20 do be looking pretty good.

Post by Karantu » Mon Apr 20, 2020 10:43 am

I can't remember the last time I've rolled dice and its starting to get to me. So instead of trying overcome my addiction like a healthy person would, I've decided to try and use technology to feed it instead.

Soooo here I am looking for people interested in starting some sort of TRPG campaign on roll20.
If anyone's interested go ahead and post here.

I don't mind being a player or DMing. (I have very limited experience)

Here are some game systems that I'm interested in, and I'm pretty open to try anything else too.
  • D&D 5E
  • Any of the 40k systems
  • Pathfinder/Starfinder

YES!

I just bought the revised edition of 40K RPG Wrath and Glory! It's really good.

I have the pdfs for it so that's totally an option if we can get enough people.

Wrath and Glory sounds interesting! I bought the original so I think I get a free upgrade 🤔

That's right I think you should. It should be in your library on drive thru RPG.

I really like the revised edition, it has become a lot more streamlined and there have been quite a few changes to the XP costs for character creation. Combat and rule set seem to be the relatively similar. I ran a session of the old one last year with ToD and a few other folks and it was a lot of fun.
I'd be down with either running a campaign or participating.

I did indeed end up having the new W&G for free, which is nice. Looks considerably cleaned up.

I quite liked W&G when it came out, character creation was pretty painful given that what came out the other side was pretty simple, but I was a fan of the Tier concept, and it looks like they have a healthier selection of Ascension Packages now.

Cool beans!

Ok folks what kind of scenario would you like to play? And who else is interested? (ToD looking at you)
I'm thinking maybe a Tier 2 imperial campaign just to get used to the system again. For those unfamiliar tier 2 means your veteran guardsman, your inquisitorial acolytes, your skitarii level dudes. Let me get back later . I'll post my pitch for a story I've had in the slow cooker for a while.

A Tier 2 Imperial campaign sounds good for a test drive. If you have a story you could try GMing it if you don't mind. We could try running that and see where things go from there. I'd like to know the background for the campaign before making a character though.

Oh! I guess I've been summoned.

VOIP-based gaming will be rough for me, if only because I'm mostly free after everyone has gone to bed and the computer is right across the hall from bedrooms.
Feel free to call me Dave!

Ok here's one possible pitch, let me know what you think. Or if you have any thing you want to try.

You are members of the bridge crew of the Imperial Dauntless Light cruiser Manifest Destiny. After taking part in the void battle that broke the back of an invading Ork waagh as part of Battle Fleet Koronus and the subsequent triumph, the Manifest Destiny has been tasked with breaking from the fleet to escort a Navigator Scion of the House Brobantis back to her home world of Vorlese in Segmentum Solar. Accompanying the Manifest Destiny is the Rogue trader cargo hauler Maiden of the stars, it's hull full of precious adamantium, and the Missionary Frigate and escorts of Cardinal Astra Draclau Covenant of Faith also en route to Segmentum Solar.

House Brobantis is a prominent house within the Navis Nobilite and it's Novator, Lady Chetta-mandey is very protective of her own, and trusts that the navy, honor bound to deliver her daughter back to her, will do so promptly and without incident...

Edit: @TOD: How about a latop?
