Those are good looking warbands, especially the Daughters of Khaine

Hooray! I've been waiting for these. The multiplayer news is interesting, and while single player is also kinda intriguing, I'd be kidding myself if I thought I'd stop playing magic to play shadespire alone. I'm keen to paint the new warbands, though (oddly for me, the orc one has the greater draw at the mo, but that may change once I have them in hand.)

Those DoK are the bee's knees.

<record scratch> There's something I never thought I'd hear you say. :lol:

I hear you about solo play, though. I haven't gotten BSF out for a bit just because setup and teardown are a pain - the draw of computer gaming in a nutshell.

I actually feel like I have a solo play niche for Underworlds for when the baseball is on but I don't want to paint :lol:

(When I become a Giants fan, you'll have seen Stockholm Syndrome in action)

I don't think the solo stuff is super interesting for the sake of practicing Underworlds itself, outside giving the fighter cards and faction power cards of a new team a run. But it's probably enjoyable and I've got an Orruk Megaboss that will do perfectly for it.

Rest of the roadmap looks good, I'm very keen for both new warbands and we end up playing 3 player a *lot* out at Plamojuku so the multiplayer expansion will be high value.

a question: where do you fine folks buy your underworlds these days? I used to get em from Adepta Australis on ebay, but they seem to have become a casualty of covid, and are nowhere to be seen. I would get em from GWs, but man, every time I look I cant help but convert the UK prices to JP prices and it just gets me so cranky I end up scowling and stamping my foot and refusing to buy anything from the damn bandits.

So, alternative sources? I'm asking for when the two new warbands come out, probably pretty imminently.

I’m afraid my answer is “the FLGS in Ichinomiya since they give a nice big discount,” but I appreciate that’s probably not a helpful answer for you. :?

I would probably buy Underworlds there at full price anyway since that's where I play it, but thankfully that's not an issue.

I guess if I was buying anywhere else it'd probably just be Ring Tail where I have points (they're my store of choice for cooped-up-in-a-pandemic impulse buys).

(I am a little less turned off by Japanese prices because my wallet lost all sensation of pain being repeatedly mauled by Australian prices)

Also, mij, I know it might not be feasible during lockdown, but did I ever point you toward that hobby shop in Yokkaichi that carries Underworlds? Not sure about their discount situation, but you never know.

cheers, dave and jye. Hmmn. I'll have a think about it. If I were to be going to Yokkaichi any time soon I'd certainly pop in and have a look, but at the mo going anywere seems unlikely. As for Ringtail, while I support the idea of supporting smaller retailers, they're not exactly local, charge the same as GWs, and on top of that charge shipping (which GW currently dont). So...it looks like the mothership is my cheapest option *coughhackhackkerchoke*. Brrr. Never thought I'd say that :shock:

@M_i_J
FYI, Ringtail has free shipping if you order over a certain amount of stuff. The threshold may be more than you're willing to spend on Underworlds. But if you were, for example, thinking to update your Malifaux books and cards...
