Reaper Minins

Post by kojibear » Thu Oct 14, 2010 4:10 am

Hi guys

Just a quick question about the size of the reaper minins. Are they around the same size as GW?

Some of the Reaper minis look quite good.

Hope you are all having a good day.

They vary a little bit, but they are about the same height. GW models tend to be bulkier though, so Reaper look skinny next to them. Its not too bad for some things, but for others there is a big difference.

Reaper minis by themselves are really nice, and while fit into the WFB theme without a hitch, they won't always fit into a regiment of your rank and file troops. WFB minis from games workshop are all designed to so that character models slot in like a jigsaw, side by side other models on a movement tray. Reaper minis on the other hand aren't designed to be placed directly base to base with other models and have all manner of impressive capes, cloaks, arms, poses e.t.c that in some cases will make it impossible for the model to "join" a unit. It wouldn't be a problem if you fielded the model individually though, other than that it might die horribly all by itself.

My reaper vampire lord had too massive a batman cape and would shove off 2 other models to the left and right of him if placed in the middle of the front rank of any regiment. He is regrettably a show case model now.

I'd go for the reaper minis that don't spread their arms out too wide and don't have capes that take up 4 bases. :D
