Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
I feel like GW was trying to go for a shambling look with those skeleton poses but as @mij has mentioned as well, the tilted head thing really throws me off...

Are you saying they're not kawaii? Watch out, you'll make enemies of the skeleton otaku.me_in_japan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:36 pmI do feel, though, that having them all cocking their heads to the side gives a little bit of a “nyaha! Atashi kawaii, desho?” kind of look. No? Anyone? Just me?![]()
I am looking forward to owning these models but I won't paint them so they'll just have to do their best with bare plastic colour.

The leader does have a bit of an Instagram pose if you choose to look at it that way.
Doesn't bother me personally.
The big question for me is whether they'll go with squares or hexes, but that's just the way I'm wired.
Speaking of hexes, they also previewed a few new board games (that we won't be able to get in Japan), and one of them in particular actually looks intriguing to me:

Looks very much like a WarCry / Underworlds hybrid - just from the components I'd guess the WarCry resolution system with Underworlds turn structure and of course warbands and hexes - which is right up my alley TBH. Looks like the board is actually Underworlds sized, which might be enough for me to try and get my hands on it, even if said board wouldn't be tournament-legal.
Contrast Skeleton Horde really is magic sauce for painting up, er, skeleton hordes though.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 1:15 amI am looking forward to owning these models but I won't paint them so they'll just have to do their best with bare plastic colour.

Why is the skeleton wearing an eyepatch? His other eye socket is completely empty.
Head tilting instagram poses aside, those are some nice skellingtons. A couple of minutes with a sharp knife and some glue should fix the bare headed chap at least.
I'm seriously tempted to pick up this game when it drops. I have no real interest in the game (yet, that may change), but all of the previewed figures look great.

I think you are watching too much anime.me_in_japan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:36 pmI’m really liking those new skellies, and as Andrew pointed out over on Facebook, huzzah for skeletons finally getting to wear clothes![]()

...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Classic skeleton warrior design. Love it.
I can imagine a staccato, jerking movement of the head from side to side. A marionette performing a danse macabre, puppeteered by strings of necromantic force that animate it.
At least that's what I think GW was intending. I'm not really feeling the kawaii vibe I'm afraid. Apologies to the skeleton otakus.

Also!
As there are 10 more characters that need revealing on the Cursed city, and there will be weekly reveals for heroes and villains of the game as stated in on the warhammer community site. Then could it be that the release will be following 10 weeks? That should put it (hopefully/possibly) in an April window, along side the soul blight stuff for that game with cards that is quite fun and everyone plays, (that I can never remember the name of)

Super hyped for this. So much so that it got it motivated to finish of painting warhammer quest: blackstone fortress.

GW Kremlinology predicts a March/April release for a boost to end-of-the-fiscal-year sales, and the previews are usually no more than 3 months out, so it's a safe guess! Time enough to squirrel away some hobby funds for it.

Murphy's Law says it should arrive about the same time Frosthaven ships.

Oh that Skellie with the eyepatch be stylin' and profilin'
