I don't think anyone would mind if we extend the deadline by a week or so if you have a model coming up. How much time do you think you'll need?

Re: Gauntlet 2.0
@Karantu: Thanks! but I think I'll sit this one out. Looking forward for the March one though! I'll be ready for that one.
Re: Gauntlet 2.0
@Jus, Sure, anyway there's still almost a week left if you manage to get something done by then. I'll be randomly picking a theme again for next month after that's done.
Re: Gauntlet 2.0
So that marks the end of round 2.
Here's the voting page so go ahead and vote just like last time.
The deadline to vote on it is till the end of next Sunday. (Feb-28th)
Moving on, the theme for next month's contest as randomly picked from my list is:
Cream of the Crop
Personally I was thinking of this referring to something along the lines of an elite unit but if someone wants to paint up some murderous corn or something of that sorts, go right ahead. Just as the last round, anything painted between today and the end of March-21 is a valid submission and everyone on the forum is free to participate.
※One entry per participant.

It's open to interpretation so anything goes, but any Eldar (or Elven) unit would fit that description extremely well.me_in_japan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:40 amOr just...any smug faced eldar. Which is most of them, tbhCream of the Crop![]()
Re: Gauntlet 2.0
Woops I forgot to post the results from the last round.
Anyway here they are. We only had 4 votes in this time so the overall scores are a bit lower.
1st - Matt's Megatrakk Scrapjet - 15pts
2nd - Karantu's Shokkjump Dragsta - 9pts
3rd - Jye's Mortifiers - 7pts
4th - Primarch's Cryptek on Roomba - 5pts
Congrats to Matt for coming first! It was a really good submission, even good enough to rival the entries in GW's official painting contest for February which seems to have ripped off my theme.
March-21 is the deadline for next month. Hopefully we can get a few more entries in this time. Feel free to toss in something you've painted within the time frame, even if you've posted it elsewhere. Also don't hesitate to vote on the submissions even if you haven't submitted anything.

The Roomba and its pet Cryptek were *robbed* of 3rd. Hard to go past the Ork buggies though!
Grats to Matt!

Oh thanks guys!
Looking forward to next month's theme as well - works out perfectly with something I was going to paint anyway.

Re: Gauntlet 2.0
I notice that the deadline for this round is coming up, so I have an entry ready to go. These were originally posted along with the rest of my XIIIth Legion minis in the daily thread, but here they are again.
5 Locutarus Storm marines.

The Locutarus Storm Squads are an elite assault unit drawn from the best fighters among the line assault troops in a chapter. (Note that in 30K one chapter is 10,000 marines and the Ultramarines had 25 chapters). Whereas assault troops from other legions are known for their ferociousness or savagery, the Locutarus are famed for their discipline and precision.
Though it's not explicitly stated in the army list, these guys seem to be the forerunners of the 40K Vanguard Veteran squads.
I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else enters. Get those brushes working!
