Karantu wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:20 amWoops, I'm horribly late with the poll results again. I should really set up a reminder next time.
This time we had a record number of voters (8!) so thanks to everyone who voted.
And congratulations to Konrad for getting first place with 28pts!
Second is Matt's Inquisitor at 20pts followed by Kroak and Jye's Dark Eldar.
You can see the detailed results here.
Also, just to remind everyone there's two weeks left in round 6 so hopefully you've got something ready.Karantu wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 6:23 amAnd for next month's theme:
来月のテーマは...
The Need for Speed
The usual rules apply and the deadline for round 6 is June 27th so go ahead and throw in one submission of anything you paint in that timespan that you think fits the theme.
I seems my cunning plan was a success! Be one of only 4 entries and I can't fail. That's so cunning I may try it again this month......

@Dave, The blue Vampires look great, personally I feel like it fits them since blue sort of represents being drained of blood or blood oxygen. Also since blue hair = Sonic the hedgehog it fits the theme perfectly.

@TOD- Celerity? So are we to assume the 17 year old you spent his days sulking around in a trench-coat, listening to Souxie and the Banshees? "Beast I am lest Beast I become!" (Not me either, but our buddy who ran the game was and a was pretty good guy.)
I was partial to Obfuscate. Though in all fairness, Celerity was the best Discipline. (insert vampire smiley here)

My and my friends were more into Mage, but I did move in those circles, yes.Konrad wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 12:00 am@TOD- Celerity? You put as many dots as you can into Generation and Celerity, then you make your character.

Re: Gauntlet 2.0

The need...for the Fast Attack slot.
I wasn't going to expand the Death Guard, as I already have tons of fabulous models painted by Grant, but the vehicles are just too cool, and too fun to build. And I was really very much in need of a fast melee threat!

eeeugh! Is that whirling people-mulcher mounted on the arms standard or that an inspired kit-bash?Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 12:24 am

Re: Gauntlet 2.0
It's standard. You don't see it quite so often because it's only in the multipart kit, whereas most folks have the Easy To Build models from Dark Imperium/Know No Fear etc that came with dual plague spewers.
Re: Gauntlet 2.0
Here's my entry for this month, a nine-boy strong biker gang. The only biker gang with more right arms than members.
Btw, the deadline is tomorrow so if anyone else has something they've painting over the last month, go ahead and flex your creative writing muscles, whip up a reason why it fits the theme and just toss it in.

Re: Gauntlet 2.0
My entry for this round is a Dark Angels Legion attack bike. While they may not be as fast as the White Scars, the Ravenwing are certainly up in the top tier of high-speed marines.

The mini is a 3D print from Jus (the file for the print is available online). Currently Forge World don't have a 30K attack bike model yet. So, as well as being a fast attack choice, this also meets the theme because the 3D knock-off community has managed to produce a version of the mini faster than the original designers.

I added a few decals here and there, though the icons on the shoulder pads are molded onto the models.

While the official I Legion scheme is black with red and silver, I have added some green spot colours to symbolize that these particular riders are from Caliban. I also tried to paint in the computer screen on the driver's console, though it hasn't come out well in the photo.

Still trying to get the hang of weathering, but I figure that driving a motorcycle/sidecar combo around a futuristic battlefield is probably going to result in some wear and tear, plus a lot of dust, dirt and grime being flung at you.
