Getting into the spirit of the game
Getting into the spirit of the game
Hi, how's everyone coming along with the tournament prep? I'm sure everyone's busy finalizing lists and doing last minute paint jobs, I know I am. The forum here has been pretty dead for the last few weeks, so i was hoping to generate a bit more hype here. Now, I'm a narrative gamer through and through, and fluff and back story is my game. Having some background to it makes for a much more interesting game, where you aren't just pushing plastic and rolling dice, but reliving a battle with pASsion and Emotion and beer and cake. As such, lets know more about our player's armies.
Please post, in a paragraph or more (or less), a (believable) fluff piece about your army, and what it stands for. Just for fun, so our community can enjoy one of the less competitive aspects of the hobby and get into the spirit of game....fore the killing starts.

The Goblins of the Schtroumpfwald Forest
-or-
Entirely the Wrong Kind of Mushrooms
Da Free Apple Tribe were Night Goblins once, and somewhere in the small part of their brains that haven't been swiss cheesed by constant abuse of potent psychotropic mushrooms they might even remember this. They remember to hate "Dorfs", and they certainly remember how to make fungus beer, although that might be all they can recall from the days when they lived in caves. They were pushed out into the Schtroumpfwald Forest by a more-powerful tribe of Goblins, and at first they despaired. No stone overhead, or underfoot! But the forest is deep and dark, so they were protected from the sun, and they soon found their salvation. Mushrooms! They looked like the mushrooms they knew underground - red caps with white spots and all - but some of them grew to enormous size. So they started eating them, and eventually even living in the larger ones, not knowing that they were Entirely the Wrong Kind of Mushroom. Physiological and psychological changes soon began to take place - their skin paled from green to blue, and their chanting turned into annoying, repetitive singing. But they stayed just as insane and evil as ever, and quickly carved out a little empire for themselves deep in the forest, under the leadership of their Warboss, "Pappy". Orcs will have nothing to do with them, of course, but there are reports that they are recruiting local Forest Goblins and even Trolls, trading steel spearheads and gold shinies in exchange for servitude, with the small addendum that their new friends should join them in a feast of mushrooms...

Very nice TOD. I like the name of the forest. If you others don't get 'it', 'Les Stroumpfs' (sp) is the original French name of the Smurfs.

You next Jus.
You'll have to wait to read my army's fluff as it rather gives away what's in my army
Hint: The Title is "Which Elf?"
